It started out as a tale similar to many others. A dragon captured a princess and took her to the Cave of Confusion. Her father, the king, offered a reward. A knight in the kingdom set off for the Cave of Confusion to rescue the princess. He did this partly out of a strong sense of duty and party for the reward.

The knight freed the princess and together they prepared to face the dragon. From a distance, the dragon saw them and planned to strike when both of them were looking the other way. For a creature so large, the dragon could be quite silent. The strike occurred while the knight and the princess were talking to each other. It appeared that the dragon might win.

Then the Cave of Confusion launched an attack of its own. Neither the knight, the princess, nor the dragon expected what happened next. All three of them merged together as three different wills fought for control of the dragon knight princess all of them had become. Eventually the knight and the princess learned how to work together. With all of their wills being more or less equal. The combined will of the knight and the princess suppressed the will of the dragon. Together they would share control of the dragon knight princess.

The knight and the princess did not always agree but they never let their disagreements get out of hand. If they ever did, it would give the dragon a change to gain control. As it was, the being was all of them and yet none of them. It seemed amazing that their three different wills had not completely pulled it apart.

Eventually the dragon knight princess left the Cave of Confusion and headed for the nearest town. She seemed to have one will instead of three but this just led to more questions. Did the dragon regain control, did the knight or the princess take over completely, or did the Cave of Confusion take over from all three of them? Whatever the case, the dragon knight princess decided to interact with the people in town partly out of a sense of duty and partly in the hope of receiving some sort of reward.
