John was walking around his neighborhood pond when he noticed a small yellow bow in the grass nearby. He thought it might belong to somebody so he took it home. While looking into his bathroom mirror, he decided to put on the bow just for fun. Little did he know this would trigger a transformation.

His hair turned a bright shade of orange and his skin turned purple. At first he thought his eyes were growing. Then John realized it was the rest of his body that was shrinking around them. His human features disappeared as he gained the characteristics of a frog. As he continued to shrink, he hopped up onto the sink so he could continue to see the transformation.

John had no way of stopping the transformation. All he could do was continue to watch with the hope of actually understanding what was going on. His clothing changed into blue overalls. His body became fully female, but compared to becoming a frog it was difficult for him, or her, to notice. She was also becoming younger, but it was difficult to compare human years and frog years, especially with all the other changes going on.

She noticed that she was becoming more animated as if she was in a cartoon. The hairs on her head fused together becoming one solid object, a wrench appeared in her pocket, and a glove appeared on one hand but not the other. The name Polly, more specifically Polly Plantar, popped into her head as the name John faded away as if it had never been there.

Polly was still admiring herself in the mirror when she got teleported to a place known as Amphibia. With the entire world being animated, it was easier for her to find her place in it. Her brother Sprig and grandfather Hop Pop came over to greet her. When they asked if she was alright, she quickly told them her strange dream of returning to the human world before she forgot about it completely.
