A new Virtual Role Playing Game, or VRPG, was about to be released. The game was called Fate of Rylos. All of the characters had to work together in a virtual world to defend the peaceful planet Rylos from the Borzon Empire threatening to conquer it. To promote the game, its makers sent flyers to several local colleges inviting them to come at a specific time and test the game out.

With twenty-second century technology, the players would be able to see, hear, smell, and feel what their virtual characters experienced and through the use of hypnosis they would actually think they were the characters in the virtual world. There were plenty of safety features in place to make sure no physical or mental damage occurred but many people were still afraid of the new technology.

Logan was not one of those people. As soon as read the announcement, he learned everything he could about the game. He arrived almost a full hour ahead of time to make sure he would be one of the first people to play it.

The makers of the game were disappointed that about 90 percent of the students who showed were male but that was not too much of a problem. Through the use of hypnosis, they could still get them to play the characters they wanted. Logan was invited to play the first character. He literally jumped at the chance without even bothering to find out which character he was playing. It turned out to be Princess Lily who had the misfortune of having to lead the Rylos army in the absence of her parents. Their fate was being kept secret.

Finding himself in the virtual body of Princess Lily, Logan was in shock. Then the hypnosis kicked in making him feel feminine and dominant. She, as far as he knew, remembered only being Princess Lily. She had the responsibility of motivating her troops. It was something she was quite skilled at because she had been doing it her entire life.

As the other students saw Logan acting like Princess Lily as he experienced the virtual world, they realized he might yet get the last laugh. The others were hypnotized to believe they had to protect the princess even at the cost of their own virtual lives. Princess Lily was always accompanied by at least a dozen men and women who served as her bodyguards.
