“Stop looking at me like that!” Isabelle protested as the made her way down the trampled path, the bamboo hedges shaking in the thunder of Richard’s foot falls. “I already explained to you it’s impossible!”
Rumbling something that sounded like a statement of disbelief Richard lowered his massive head and nudged her from behind. The heat of his breath blasting against her back sending her white fur flying in all directions before he pulled his lips back exposing the egg locked between the massive steak knives that passed for teeth. The mere sight of them still made her shiver.

“No.” She folded her arms over her chest and planted her feet. “I don’t care how many ingredients you have gathered.”

A mournful rumbled emanated from somewhere deep in Richard’s throat sending the folded sack of skin there shaking as pushed his nose forwards again rubbing it up against her belly and nudging her breasts.

“Stop that.” She chided, a little less harshly this time. Instead using both her hands to push the massive t-rex’s nose away as Richard slowly righted himself. “Look, you’re going to have to find something else.”

Head shaking from side to side, Richard dipped down again and nudged at her breasts.

“No, no, nooooo.” Isabelle put both hands on his nose and pushed again, this time Richard held her ground and she found herself retreating a step. “Look, I already explained that’s not how those work. They don’t just turn on at command.”

In response Richard blew a blast of hot breath into her face and using his car sized head to nudge her again.

Skittering back, Isabelle had to hold onto his snout to prevent herself from falling backwards, and even then, it was a near thing. Before she could protest further, Richard dipped his head and deposited the large newly acquired egg onto the worn path with no small amount of drool making her wince.

“Oh, no!” Isabelle took a step back as Richard showed her his maw with a toothy smile, slowly taking a single step forwards that sent pebbles skittering back around her hooves. “No, no no! I said –Oh!”

Just as she braced herself against him, the big lizard dipped his head and in a single motion flipped her up into the air in a single fluid sweep. Screaming as she was sent tumbling upwards she grabbed at the only hand hold she could thing of wedging her fingers into his nostrils, which a second later left her hanging in a very precarious situation. Legs kicking in open space, Isabelle tried not to look down, only to regret glancing down a second later.

“Richard!” She hollered, holding on for dear life. “This isn’t funny!”

Richard seemed to disagree, practically snorting with amusement at her predicament.

“Richard, put me down!” She tried to use her most authoritative voice, for what good it did her, as Richard just tilted his head upwards. “Richard!”

A quick flick was all it took from the rex’s jaws to land her squarely in his mouth, the pink tongue wrapping around her like a snake as he pulled her into the back of his throat. For a brief horrific second she thought that he was going to swallow, only to feel the muscles relax and find herself falling into Richard’s throat sack.

“Richa-” She protested, only to have his jaws snap shut cutting off her cries of protest. It didn’t stop her from pounding against his pouch she found herself in and cursing the lizard roundly and thoroughly. A moment later the jaws cracked again and the egg the size of a beach ball came rolling down to land in her lap. She took the opportunity to try and make a mad dash up the slimy canal to the light, only for the massive pink snake rise to block her path before the jaws closed again.

Cursing him as best she could, Isabelle resigned for the long and slimy trip home, pondering first if it was wroth the fallout to bite the rex’s tail the moment he fell asleep. Then, slowly her thoughts moved to the more pressing matter of how to make eggnog with limited ingredients.
