The horrors, there is nothing more nightmarish than having to explain, preferably in as minimal detail as possible, how something has gone horribly wrong, and why they should cover it in their warrantee. LOL too true - in most cases, you get what you pay for, high insurance rate, means you probably get good coverage, or at least near human people to talk to. Low rates... well, the machine has no mercy and can outlast any human on the phone.Β

I recall when I first started out dealing with insurance, keep in mind that this was pretty young as my family made sure I was very independent. So my first wake up call came in the form of my dental bill, as I had needed braces. That is when I first learned what deductible really meant.
Much unhappiness later.

Itβs like your relatively new car is totaled.
Claiming depreciation they give you what they feel itβs worth pre crash.
What they do give you barely covers a down payment for another car.

It is a sickening feeling, one I have felt to often. As this happened to me with a little Honda I had, nice car, but a bear in the winter to start. Anyways, I ended up getting hit in a head on, other vehicles swerved trying to take a turn that nearly rolled his car and slams into me. Fun. Guy flees the scene and leaves me to joy down his license plate and report a hit and run.
The car runs, but is deemed totaled, the insurance office quotes my cats value at $400. Yes. $400.
I laugh this off and tell them I will fix it myself. One afternoon, a welding torch, and three sets of Arms later, the bumpers were back in place.

At least 5 dead 21 injured including one of my brothers. He attempted a traffic stop and this perp opened up on him. Heβll survive.
Better than the perp.......once they ran him down he was DRT......Dead Right There. But he hurt quite a few before he was ran down.

I swear, that car was near impossible to kill. Though in the end it was the Alaskan winter that did it in. -40 degree temperatures will do that to a car.
There are some people out there that, are, well for lack of better words, evil individuals. I admit I find it a challenge trying to figure out some of those people.

I remember those cold days.
A friend brought up his 70 Vette.
He shut the door hard one winter shattering the outside panel.
Seemed fiberglass is rather brittle at 40 below.
Turned out this perp in Odessa was off balance anyway.
Off the grid type. Shot at animals a lot. He had just been fire from his job due to his irrational behavior. The police were called to the workplace but he had left. The Troops were making a simple traffic stop when he turned firing his assault rifle out the back window striking the driver in the mouth. Fortunately he was open jaw so the bullet just pierced both cheeks. He then ran about town shooting randomly at folks stopped at lights. He then jacked a postal van killing the worker and continued till he was run down at a movie place where his rampage was ended.
Funny he was denied owning a gun as he was judged unstable. He bought the gun privately which has no background check requirements. So what good is enhanced background checks if there is a loop hole.
Our legislators are now hashing that out.
Just shows.....if they want a gun they can get a gun.
