Description
The warmth from the summer morning could be felt even in the depths of the apartment complex that Jennivien resided in, well in the subbasement anyways. Lacking windows for obvious reasons, the foremost still dwelling up where the ceiling should be. Her employer had never fully explained how that worked, or if there was an actual ceiling up there, as he always seemed to be called away on an important article of business or ceased by a terrible coughing fit whenever the subject came up.Still the summer warmth radiated down even this far, penetrating deep into the wooded walls. Jennivien had accordingly adjusted her wardrobe, favoring a sleeveless blouse to go with her skirt. Not quite standard attire, but it was close enough that her employer did not seem to complain. Nor, did her other boss.
Eyes casting upwards she scanned the ceiling where Krecker, the head accountant, and local tentacle monster resided. Something about the heat seemed to be energizing it of late and she found herself having to be on guard lest she walk right into Krecker’s waiting tentacles, insistent on a impromptu cuddle session. Or more, if she let krecker carry on.
Peeking around a row of boxes to make sure the tentacle monster was not waiting for her, she blew out a sigh of relief and began rifling through the boxes contents. Somewhere, there was the information she needed for this years taxes, and at her employer’s insistence that there was a clerical error Jennivien had been going over all the accounts. All three hundred and sixty eight of them.
Krecker was of no help, as it seemed to think that any time she turned her back to search the contents of a box was the perfect time ambush her, sending documents flying in all directions in the process. Despite her constant swatting, the tentacle monster never seemed to tire of watching her fluff up at its unexpected probing. Casting a suspicious gaze over her shoulder, Jennivien half expected to see a tentacle coming around the corner for her. Only to be mildly disappointed when she saw only empty space. Maybe Krecker had finally taken the hint and decided to give her a break. And maybe it finally got board of moving the accounting boxes around when she was asleep.
Turning back to the box she was shifting through Jennivien screamed as several tentacles erupted from around the box she had opened. Tendrils wrapping themselves around her, she struggled against their pull as she was lifted up into the air.
‘Krecker! Now is not the time!’ She protested as several more of the tentacle monsters appendages came to join the first. ‘Krecker! – I’m war-‘
The dire warning she was forming in her brain fell short as suckers found the spot on the small of her back. Hunching over a desk all day had done its work on her muscles there and Krecker seemed to know it.
‘Kr-ooooh….K-oooOOOooo…’
Moving under her blouse, the muscular tendrils seemed to seek out her pressure points, attach themselves with a dozen or more suckers and begin kneading the area. Pressing down on the knotted muscles to the point she was about to cry out, then, reversing and suckering hard tugging at them.
Mouth working in silent protest Jennivien could feel the weeks worth of stress flowing out of her as the tentacles moved to embrace her as only a lover could. Arms straining she tugged at the bonds snaking up her arms extending themselves to her fingers as they coiled around her like passive restraints. Flexing her muscles against Krecker’s own strength, Jennivien knew the tentacle monster would give way if she forced it, she would just have to really, really want to – to…
Such thought faded, blurred, and all but vanished as the sensation of Krecker’s suckers began to coil around her inner thighs. Little suction cups gripping her inner was, tugging at her in a teasing fashion, only to release her again.
Krecker’s tentacles had already undone several buttons on her blouse and was working on a fourth when the chime came through. Jennivien winced, mouth open with Krecker’s suckers just beginning to pull at her tongue, maybe she had imagined it. Then the chime came again.
With a weary sigh, she looked up at where she thought Krecker resided, or had come to accept the illusion of where the tentacle monster was, and exchanged what she hoped was a meaningful glance. Krecker for the most part seemed to understand and began to lower her to the floor, slowly withdrawing its tentacles.
The chime came a third time as Jennivien rushed across the room to the small intercom on the side of her desk. Slapping the button with a little more force than was intended she chocked out.
‘Y-Yes?’
‘Ah, Jenn, I have just sent down a file for your next assignment. Please review it and be ready to depart in several hours.’
Before she could protest, or point out, again, that she was not inclined to field work, the intercom clicked off. Leaving her in the quite with several lingering tentacles, one of which helpfully extracted the printing off file of what was to be her third real field assignment.
Inwardly she cursed, this was Sirse’s job! Then, like always guilt began to creep in, Sirse was so seldom around anymore, instead having set up residence with her new husband, a Mr. Gus Grizzly. Married life seemed to be taking her in a whole new direction, and Jenn found herself having to take up more and more of the Vanguards duties.
Despite her protests that she was an accountant and not a field agent to be deployed at a moments notice into hostile and dangerous environments her employer seemed quite convinced otherwise. The next assignment, looked to be no better, as Krecker held up a sheet with a picture attached to the front. A picture of a severed arm in a glass case, bearing a placard: Lot 103.
Jennivien groaned and let her head fall onto the desk. She barley felt Krecker’s attempts to sooth her mood of impending doom.
Previously: Lot Number 103

Lol the thing is she just wants to work in the accounting department, not be sent on crazy missions by her employer. TT

And that conflicts with the higher ups' priority to put her on many away missions.

That's it in a nut shell, but when you only have three employees, one of which is an eldritch tentacle monster you have to make due.

And how, taxis were right out, along with uber. So she has to car pool, or use an electric race car and hope for the best.
And on top of that carrying money, cards, or even groceries is a major pain. If not near impossible.

Time to get working Jenn.
Get your field gear ready.
Oh.......that’s right. You burned your last kit after that last mission.😋
Head over to REI pick up some gear.

Lol she hoped that if her survival kit suffered a sudden disappearance she would not have to go out again. Well now it is time for lesson number two: Always have your gear ready, or, you go out without it. There is an old saying, something I have always taken to heart: 'You go to war with what you have, not what you want.'
And now she is making a run for the nearest REI store for the most basic supplies. ^^

Thank you, I am glad you like my work, I will be posting another soon. Where Krecker comes in, it is a little bit complicated, it is hard to tell if Krecker is a single entity or multiple tentacle monsters. Krecker may have another like it, but it is hard to tell, it was just sort of there in the accounting department when I moved in. Undoubtedly Krecker will be there long after I am gone too. ^^
So, this mysterious OC, what does she look like?

Wow so krecker has no doubt seen its share of employees pass through the office, to many it never really has time to get to know each one..maybe that's why it acts the way it does?
Just a theory

Possibly, I can only speak for the past tenant who made it clear the the sub basement was not to be opened, claiming that it was 'haunted' and not willing to say more on the topic.
And before him, the other tenants seemed to try and perform an exorcism, though the notes on that are vague at best. I can only gather it did not work.
Myself, I just made Krecker head accountant and put in charge of handling the yearly tax paperwork. So far the IRS has not seen fit to come talk to krecker about the numbers.
Though that may be attributed to Jennivien helping.

That's half the reason I keep her around, that and she does seem to have feelings for the local tentacle monster. Who am I to disrupt budding romance.
That and she can explore with krecker, all those little things that she would be afraid to admitting she wanted to try to anyone else.

And how, I until two years ago, lived up in Alaska and as such it was easy to just grab a pack and disappear for a week or more. Then again coming back was always an ordeal, to soften the blow I would always try to swing by one of the better restaurants out there. Still it is good to be home.
