Based on *SenshiStock 's Element Bending Preview - Pose Reference .Construct Fist because constructs are cool.
While working on this I discovered a new technique that uses the luminosity blend mode on shapes with no saturation instead of transparency and pathfinding.
This allows for less use of the pathfinder tools and is less picky about layering orders and dealing with transparent objects. Previously, objects beneath semi-transparent objects needed to be boolean'd with the semi-transparent object and the excess removed.
The downside is that Flash doesn't have a native Luminosity blend mode* and it seems that many browsers won't render the SVG luminosity filters.
* There are some PixelBender shaders that can be used to create a blend mode.
