Alright guys, it’s finally time.
For more than a year now, I’ve been working on a novel-length Gravity Falls fanfiction project, and at long last it’s nearing completion.
Without giving away too much of the story, the gist is that Dipper and Wendy reunite the next summer, only to be immediately confronted with a looming threat of mysterious predatory robots. The duo venture out to find where they came from, and get dragged into an ancient tragedy of monsters, machines, and forgotten heroes. Meanwhile, Mabel, McGucket, the grunkles, and especially the Shapeshifter, all have their own paths to walk.
The story is primarily adventure and hard science fiction, but backed by comedy, drama, romance, and pretty much everything else I guess (everything for cussing or anything explicit; my little sister reads this!)
It has 31 chapters and July has 31 days, so, for the duration of this month, I will be releasing one chapter per day. Each chapter will have at least one illustration, and will be posted both here on my DeviantArt account, and on my Tumblr blog .
Recommended prior viewing:
The entire show, but especially the episodes: “The Inconveniencing”, “The Time-Traveler’s Pig”, “Into the bunker”, “Dipper and Mabel vs. the Future”, and “Weirdmageddon”. If it isn’t obvious, this story milks the science-fiction parts of the canon for all they’re worth.
