holy crap...an abdominal reference for actual men and not the "I'm so pumped you cant touch me hurr". I love the way it was all composed and how detailed you got into every little section...
IN OTHER WORDS: thank you so very much for the truth.
PS: I've favourited this for future reference and hope you will continue to share your knowledge of anatomy be it male or female. Good show.

This is one of the most useful tutorials I've read in a long time. It's a subject I've been looking around at for a while, and the information on variations makes it especially good. Now to stow it away for practice later and go back to reading your comments, bwaha.

Humorous, helpful, and definitely hot. No, really, this explains just about everything I could ask for. I wish I would have had this back when I worked at a health and nutrition store, haha.

I love these types anatomy tutorials. Not everyone has the same body type, and that is what makes humans so fascinating.
Ectomorph, mesomorph, and endomorph also applies to us women. Not all girls are skinny and/or have giant boobies. I'd be nice to see some tall mesomorph girls every once in a while. Actually, I don't even look at most artwork of the female body anymore, because they all look the same, so damn annoying!

Could you maybe draw a tutorial like that for neck muscles? or maybe show me a page that explains them? Because somehow I don't get them at all (my faul, I know) and you're quite good at explaining stuff for everyone to understand

I'd fave this for the first line of the artists comment alone but the fact is that this is an excellent tutorial.
I'm always amazed at the number of people who get the difference between toned / defined and strong wrong and also the number of artists who basically have faces for their characters and otherwise place them on the same body. Although this guide doesn't cover all of the possible forms of individual differentiation it does a good job of showing how people could be differentiated in their torsos and moreover why they would be different.
Thanks a lot for sharing and hopefully I'll be able to put some of this information to good use in my art as well; it's not like I couldn't use it. XD

I love you for this so much! People have no idea how much of a PAIN is it to draw a proper, believeable male torso. This has just helped me through many papers cuts and agony looking in anatomy books. THANK YOU!
Would you ever consider doing a tutorial on the female torso as well?

What I love about this is how it's visually simple enough to make the idea simpler to the reader. In other words, your use of clean lines and bright colors.

Sprinter body reminds me of my dad... he works out at the gym to get the strongest, lightest weight possible. Since he runs like 10 miles a day and tries to run fast, he wants to be strong but not bulky. So this was very helpful, thanks I'm not good a drawing muscles, so this will definitely help.

Nice tut, very educational (I learned a thing or three).
But concerning the "Big guy isn't fast" part, that is actually false. In real life, big guys are almost all of the time very, very fast.
