Page 16! Here is the promised Volger/Barlow scene. Disclaimer, though: When I scripted this, I didn't realize that Dr. Barlow is MARRIED. (I suppose I missed that little detail some place) So, in this corner of AU, we're going to say that the good doctor is NOT married, and thus free to flirt with devilishly Handsome counts. Okay? Her (Dr. Barlow's) father was Darwin's son, thus the 'Barlow' came from her husband, Sir Alan Barlow. According to Wikipedia, by this time they would have had two children. Joan Helen Barlow, and Thomas Erasmus Barlow. But the boy was born just months before the start of the story, so she probably only had the one daughter. Of time. (I feel so smarticles ^.^ Tank you for reading my little flash-to-the-alternate-past there) Honestly, I love the way you drew them. Dr. Barlow looks so... kind. Andlike a cleverboots, and Volger looks dignified.

No, wait, I get the first question! Sorry, I'd forgotten what I had written it the description. AU is alternate universe...it basically means there is a divergance from the canon of the story. SO, by having the good doctor and the count get together and flirt, my story has become AU because it is no longer in line with canon--that is, that the count and the doc can't get together because the doc is MARRIED. (I know folks will dispute this, but I don't want to bust up the doc's marriage! I'd feel bad.) SO! In my 'alternate universe' Barlow is UNMARRIED. Thus she is free to flirt with the count.
