This is a drawing of Eve after she just set fire to a forest. Yeps, it’s her favourite thing to do. xD

With this piece I really tried to push myself as much as I could, and I have to say I am quite proud of this one.

It is inspired by the film, as this is Eve Alba, a kind of fan character based off the antagonists, the Pure Ones.

Β

Oh yeah, I can see exactly what you mean, the impact and the flow is much bolder. Shame I no longer have the PSD file for this piece, as I accidently deleted it with pretty much all the other PSD files of my work, because I would have tested this out for practice. O:

Β

Thank you for the critique and of course, for the watch.

This is a beautiful work of art, absolutely wonderful! I don't think there is anything I can criticize on this piece, honestly! I am blown away! I will try my best on this critique, though! ^^

My initial thought on this piece:
This must be what Valkyries keep as pets. It looks as if you have captured the soul and essence of war and put it into the image of a majestic bird. It works beautifully. The entire piece has a very immersive atmosphere. The shading is perfect, and the moon's brightness captured and holds my attention in the war bird. The detail you put into this is astonishingly everything has a real depth and sheen to it. The chain holdingnthencloakmonnthenbird is absolutely stunning. You did an amazing job!

Vision
I'm giving you five stars because of the amazing detail you put into creating the atmosphere for this piece. The bird is in a perfect place.

Originality
Five stars again! I have never seen anything like this. Amazing!

Technique
Four stars. I would have given you five for this as well, but when I took a long, close look at the full view image, I could see some areas where shading and highlights could have been more dramatic, but that's only because I'm forcing myself to nitpick. e.deviantart.net/emoticons/a/a… " width="19" height="19" alt="" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="417" title="Sweating a little..."/> It looks awesome!

Impact Is five stars for obvious reasons. :3

Initial Impression: Doooooooooooom! What hath we wrought which brings the specter of DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM?! Also those fire effects are so nice, excellent.

Perception Lines: My attention is immediately set on the subjects face, drawn by the brightness of the moon and the shadows of its face. Next it travels down to the subjects talons and then into the flames.

Vision: The theme and emotion of this piece are pretty clear. The detached but watchful specter of the subject, the total destruction reaped upon the location. It has a very compelling judgement vibe to it.

Originality: The composition feels fairly well executed, the fact it's an owl is different, and the whole scene is interesting. It kind of reminds me of Rome burning while the emperor goes insane, only less insanity.

Technique: Aside from the well done fire, subject, and cape... I feel compelled to point out that the moon while very bright would look more realistic with a few darker patches, shadows, on it but that could easily be a stylistic choice. The other thing I noted was how the talons see on the wooden arc, that is an arc right? They aren't grasping it like a birds normally would, they're just kind of there. Also the arc looks a bit more like a post even though you can clearly see the matching horn decoration in the background implying it's an arc.

Impact: It's an interesting composition. It has a strong theme which comes through, an uncommon subject, and well done flames. I would definitely talk about this if I was ever in a discussion about good animal themed pieces. However without a bit more indication of what is being burninated it lacks that final bit of "mmph" in my mind.

That is pretty much what this piece is about. Although, I think I am going to have to add more description in the artist comments as quite a few people have been asking me of the story behind this artwork. I did have the biography for this character but I removed it from the net, as people where stealing from it.

I was kind of stuck with the moon. I was not sure whether or not I should have added detail or not. So, In the end I stuck with the simplistic style of it, as I did not want to draw too much attention away from the main subject; Eve Alba. No, it is a β€˜bone spire’ what the Pure Ones (The faction she is part of), like this: i557.photobucket.com/albums/ss... the thing stood in the background. I think to make it look like she is gripping onto the spire more; I should add some more shading and detailing as I admit I got lazy that part. I was going to go back on it the other day and it turns out I had deleted all my PSD files to all the digital art work I have ever done.

Just the other day I was thinking about adding the charcoal trees to the background, oh well, I will not make these mistakes when I make another piece.

Thank you for the critique, it was helpful.

To me it kinda looks as it's inspired by Greek Mythology - maybe it has something to do with the bird's armour or it could be the owl itself because an owl was associated with the Goddess of Wisdom, Athena. The flame effects along with the details are very outstanding!
