Edit 1: I changed a few things.
I have always been connected to sunsets, I watch the sun set every single day, they just seem to make me feel relaxed and happy. And so, this piece is a reflection of what I feel when I watch the sunset, a mixture of happiness and sadness.

probably one of my favourite GoG drawings i've ever seen! the background, with that sorta hazy feel of the sunlight filtering through thin mist, a beautiful effect that gives abit of an overall mysterious feel to the drawing. and the owl herself, just perfect all the way around. she feels like a real creature and not some fictional character, despite her armor. an' she does indeed appear to be floating, as afew others have already said, but still, her wing beats seem to be slow and filled with there's nothing atall bad about this picture. well done, CommanderEVE!

I love how dramatic this one is. The way the owl is small in comparison to the environment emphasizes the soft and dark mood of the sunset, and I can imagine watching this owl drift in the air from afar. It all makes me imagine a really soft and slow but dramatic movement, in the owl, the sun, and the plants in the background. Awesome work.

I try to make my work as dramatic and moody as possible without going overboard to a point where it is completely unrealistic; after all, I am inspired somewhat by Romanticism as well as many other Art Movements. Indeed, I could imagine her just silent floating by, just after giving you a motionless stare and peeling off into the haze. Barn Owls do seem to float above fields and fly slowly as you have described. And thank you for the comment; it is nice to have a full, thoughtful comment from someone once in a while. xD

I just love the texture you added with the trees below, how they grow darker and then lighter with the glow from the sun! And of course ther entire artwork and detail you put into this and the time it must've taken. Very well placed with the owl flying overhead. It's cool that it's looking right at the viewer as its flying, adds quiet the depth don't you think? Beautiful shades you've used, with the oranges, yellows and browns. And when you look at it it kinda looks as though a fog is settling apon the scene

She is flying over a field, but it dose look like treetops as well. It took me a total of three hours, I hope I can get faster as there are some people who could do this kind of work in ten minutes. Indeed, Eve has that 'spooky' factor, her gaze as cold as ice. Also, thank you! :3

The more you draw the quicker you get at it, as you start to understand where the lines should go and so on. Indeed, the scne is warm, but the owl has like a cold atmosphere.

And that's the cool thing about it. Two different tones to it. A warm and soft and then a hard and cruel chillingness. It's a good way to even it out, and it really catches the eye.
Plus what your saying about the lines and drawing, that's very true. The more you do something with anything like reading for example the quicker you become. Same thing with drawing. It's no different, but this time put your thoughts on a piece of paper or canvas....or anything really for that matter.

That's some beautiful work! I love how the colors are almost inviting while a Pure One sweeps in for the beginning of his night's work. It's a nice contrast.

Yeah, I can understand. Wings can be bit of a bore, but once you know how to draw them like the back of your hand, you will have no problems.
