Description First appearing overseas in April 1941, the Yallathen Ya-3C is an tropicalized variant of the Confederated Kingdom's newest fighter aircraft. Predominantly, these modifications pertained to making the design's centerally mounted engine cool in the hot and humid tropical environment around the equator, which resulted in the expansion of the design's twin radiators, normally mounted flush within the wingroots to help compensate for these atmospheric variations. It's believed that a slight speed drop (no more than five to seven miles an hour) may result from this change, but otherwise performance is essentially unaltered. Around 70 have been ordered, and all thus far have been exclusively deployed in the Operation Adroit campaign.

Pictured here is a Ya-3C based out of the Pongatar Islands, and delivered in April of that year. 45 Ya-3Cs were delivered to the region by SCK Uplifter that month, with the first 30 being sent ahead to Maktak as their airfield was completed before the one on Pongatar as they had access to vehicles which expedited construction. The remaining 15 were flown ashore in late April of that year, and formed the crux of the newly occupied island's air defense. Notably, an indigenous species of frog proved pervasive during that time, resulting in the fighter and bomber squadrons based out of the Pongatar adopting it as their mascot. Standardly drop tanks are equipped to these fighters in an effort to improve their range, which is only sufficient for immediate defense of this island chain. Similar configurations are employed in the Maktak Islands as well.

Aircraft involved in Operation Adroit sport large visbility bars around their roundels to aid in recognition by foreign powers. While no hostile encounters with foreign aircraft are expected given the ranges of operation required, it was determined to be critical that the aircraft be easily recognized at a distance as GRCKA vehicles so as to improve the psychological impact of the annexation of these remote island chains, and to minimize any risk of foriegn aircraft accidentally engaging GRCKAF forces.

Cool design.
Why can't it go faster than 344mph?
Unless the engine is little more than 1,000hp, I'd say that it could easily top 375, like a Spitfire Mk5.
The 1941 P-40B could reach 370, which was pretty good for the Allison motor to help achieve.
