Description
“We have support.” --Shipmaster of the Patron of Sorrows----
The technological successor to the admittedly more elegant as well as considerably larger Chaw’Sah’Voh class warship, the smaller Zer’Sees class demonstrates the Ascendancy’s high estimations of the SSC’s technological capabilities. Larger than the Ehm’Beh class enforcer but smaller than the Chaw’Sah’Voh, the Zer’Sees class fills a unique niche role in the limited roster of ships fielded by the Flux Ascendancy.
The Zer’Sees was designed around two revolutionary (at least for the Ascendancy) concepts; the tacticalization of their FSEMCE technology as well as the quiet understanding that they could no longer sit solidly assure of their invisibility to the world at large. The type stands as a testament to their creator’s apprehensions in that they managed to turn perception into a liability.
Replacing the sixteen temporal compression cannons of the Chaw’Sah’Voh class is a singular special function wormhole spinner on a scale unprecedented by Ascendancy design philosophy. This central weapon is based off of FSEMCE technologies but with an unorthodox caveat: the FSEMCE itself is never triggered in common space. Instead, an FSEMCE is activated in an artificially manufactured pocket universe, which is connected to “real” space via the Zer’Sees’ central wormhole spinner. By synching the entrance/exit points of the wormhole, the system allows for both the containment and carefully controlled release of an FSEMCE’s all consuming force. Via careful timing, the FSEMCE’s energy drain is thus directed out of the pocket universe via the wormhole into a controlled and directed beam which shares the FSEMCE’s monstrous appetite for energy.
Secondly, the sensory diffusion technologies incorporated by the Zer’Sees are radically different in comparison to the ones utilized by pre-SSC contact designs. Following the loss of the Fortunate Son, Ascendancy technicians were for the first time faced with the possibility that their vaunted stealth technology might not be as illusive as they had believed. Their apprehensions were confirmed via Ascendancy surveillance of the attempted first contact by the Patron of Sorrows. During this point, the Ascendancy considered the Centum to be an adversary with technological capacities rivalling their own, and as such sought to find means to counteract this perceived balance of power.
The Zer’Sees attempts to obtain such an imbalance via the addition of a temporal dislocator to the subatomic sensory diffusion drive. While conventional Flux ships obtained their stealth via spreading particle emissions in one and two particle increments across multiple dimensions, the Zer’Sees adds an additional level of obfuscation by not just moving the particles across space, but time as well. In short, the Zer’Sees is able to send its exhaust forward (or backwards) in time.
Initially, this would seem to be a detrimental condition, as the Centum had already demonstrated its ability to track Ascendancy vessels, thus leading to the awkward problem that they could by this method know ahead of time of the arrival of an Ascendancy vessel. However by modulation, the ship’s engineer can set just how far from the present the particle emissions are deposited, thus leading to a separate problem: knowing not just where the Zer’Sees will be at a given moment, but how far that given moment is/will be/was from the present. This Zer’Sees class remains susceptible to the temporal hampering effects known to be utilized by the Centum, but equally draws benefit from it: as the particles are temporally dislocated from the present prior to diffusion (and thus are not being dislocated during the time frame effected by the jamming), it becomes increasingly difficult to track these particles as the field makes temporal sensory systems ineffective. Thus, the design acquires a heightened stealth condition when engaged with temporal countermeasures.

So, kind of like taking in anything from the environment and converting it into base matter and raw energy to reuse and reform into something useful later? Meaning that resources and getting fired at is no issue so long as the tech can convert it fast enough/enough stuff to convert to fit the immediate material demand?
Can it manipulate specifically what kind of conversion it wants? Like converting energy into freeform nucleons and electrons to form into the exact resources needed?
Nonetheless, I see that you are a man of culture.

Glad to be back too. It's going to take a bit of getting used to, but this tablet has a lot of promise. I'm almost done with some infantry armour for Halcyon Dynamics, and I'm toying around for concepts of an Ascendancy trade ship too. Future's bright.

It could have been one of many rounds. I mean, Shang Tsung doesn't win all the time. O___O
Next round, it could be IMMORTAL EMPIRE WINS. FATALITY.
Furthermore, when the Nakai met the Shadow Guard, it was more like NAKAI WINS. FATALITY. FLAWLESS VICTORY.
Of course, if SHEATHES-10 ever wins an engagement, it would be more like SHEATHES-10 WINS. BABALITY!
And yes, that's an actual thing.

I'm gonna guess it was a horrible one eyed monster the Khamood'Urr valiantly slayed in hand to hand combat.
Or something.
XD
Truth be told, I've thought about it and I'm pretty sure he'd polish his own side of the story a lot. I mean they regard him as a god after all, so I doubt their records have him losing too much.

Hmm...no, no that would be Chaw'Hast. They call him The Demon, after all. I suppose given the...shall we say, limited context provided by their deity, Zer'Sees would be something on the tier of those creatures that Hercules or Jason or some similar figure would have to battle on their quest. The truth, of course, would be a bit obscured.

You say "relegated to the status of one of the Titans" like it's a downgrade; still mortal to deity status, after all. Not particularly shabby. I mean he's going to be a figure in their equivalent of the Epic of Gilgamesh, so I'd think he'd be pretty amused by it too.

Thank you for the kind words! It seemed suitable for the task at hand; I had had the FSEMCE tacticalization notion ever since I received approval for the weapon. As it's the same phenomena but merely mounted a bit differently, it really begged to be used. The temporal stealth bit is a later addition to the design, but I think the two combine to make the Zer'Sees a very atypical warship. Normally the superweapon ships out there are these massive leviathan-eque monstrosities, combine that with heightened stealth charcteristics and I feel I've made a proper Red October for Grateful to play with.

Atypical is fine. In fact, the atypical-ness of the Flux is primarily why they're one of my favorite empires in Ancerious.
The Monarchs would express envy towards such a ship. Being Exploration-Oriented, they do not have access to Superweapons, and seeing the other factions tote theirs would color them green.
Well, greener, for Empress Gaia.
