Description The Hand of God class planetary transport is a key component of the Ascendancy’s capability to prosper in total invisibility, and reflects the unimaginable technological capabilities of their unnatural civilization. The Hand of God type’s primary role is, as its name suggests, planetary transport: that is to say that the Hand of God transports planets. Often, in circumstances wherein other interstellar species are encroaching on Ascendancy space and the Council of Five decrees that temporal annihilation shall not be the first response, the Hands of God are used to evacuate colony worlds and relocate them into more sheltered solar systems. Using a complex array of gravitational compensators and inertial dampeners, tractor beams emitted from the ends of the “tentacles” at the stern of the ship latch onto entire planetary bodies and allow the Hands of God to move entire worlds across time and space. Complimented by the almost unimaginably larger still-and mysteriously elusive-Fate class stellar transport, the Hands of God protect the Ascendancy’s secrecy quite efficiently.

Despite their incredible size, they are operated by crews numbering only in the double digits, a necessity due to the Ascendancy’s minute population. Often times, Children of the Unwell captain these vessels, as their neurological augmentations-used to compensate for their physical deformities-often allow them to function in manners far superior to conventional mentalities.

The Union used this kind kf technology to move their core and important worlds into one massive system. Nobody knows and ive never actually written down where the technology came from. We always assumed it was Nakai origin as it was ancient but who knows

this is incredible, its got a very techno organic design that is rare in most sci-fi type art.

Thank you! I really try to give my sci-fi creations a decidedly non-human inspired design. Too many ships out there are far too conventional looking, you know?

I agree, I think it stems from early uh I guess artist insecurity with curves and exotic shapes?

Now this, This is a fine example of a ship of Truly alien design, Up there with the Space jockey "Juggernaught's" designed by Giger. i applaud this. When everything falls into place, this will be interesting.

By the way, Your work is getting to be quite Detailed. The line work on this is very precise, particularly on the arms.

I just realized how impressive this must look from a planet. Imagine that, I mean you'd only be seeing the tips of the tentacles...

God's among mortals, i would suppose.
That would be a sight unparalleled by most others.

I'm going with a cephalapod inspired design theme for the Hand of God and Fate classes. There's something about the symbolic nature of arms or fingers that just fits into a design meant for carrying entire worlds, you know?

Furthermore, I would like to point out that these are not warships-their only strength really lies in their incredible size. The warships, those will come later. I have special things planned with them. XD
