Description     A sprite collection of engines built by Sodor's own Hatt River Works.
The Hatt River Engine Works were established in 1879 as the Hatt and Els River Engine Company as a branch of the Elsbridge and Knapford Railway. The E&K had recently completed their main engines works in Elsbridge, but, expecting more traffic in the future, they over-built them, leaving lots of empty room. Then, their CME, a certain Sir Topham Hatt, came up with an idea: build engines with the extra room, not to work on the E&K, but to be sold out to other railways on short contracts. The idea was brilliant!
It took some time, but in 1882, the first Hatt River Works engine was rolled out, a small 0-4-0 saddle tank. The engine was sold to a small factory on the mainland for a short stay, and soon, the engine was bought outright by the factory. More engines would be built to the same design to great success. The little engines would be built for years, and one would even be bought by the Ffarquhar Quarry on their own line in 1913.
In 1900, a small railway company in central Sodor ordered a pair of small 2-2-2 pannier tanks to run their little line. Interestingly, the Hatt River's first sentient engine would be one of these two, BK&LR No. 1 Harlow.
In the 1920s, the Tidmouth Dock Authority had a problem. Their six engines weren't enough to run the dockside, and more would be needed soon. In 1926, they ordered a trio of six-wheeled saddle tanks from Hatt River, and they would arrive the next year as their Nos. 7,8, and 9. A few years later, another engine would be ordered ,this time with larger side tanks. Finished in 1931, the TDA's No. 10 would be the last engine ever built by the Hatt River Works. Demand had obviously steeply declined after the Great Depression, and the company would be dissolved within a month after No. 10's completion.
Most engines of the works were painted in a modification of E&K, and later TK&F, red. While the railway's red livery was unlined, thin yellow lining was added to the works' engines.

I'll add more of these guys in the future!
