Description     A sprite of a unique engine that was planned in real life, but never built, an 0-6-6-0 Mallet.
FAKE LORE
In 1927, the LMS built two massive articulated engines to handle heavy goods. One of them was LMS Garratt number 4997, and the other the Mallet, numbered 9800. Overall, while the Mallet was stronger, it demanded too much coal for the fireman, and was unstable in the front. However, to fix this instability, a pony truck would have to be added, making it too big for any turntable. Number 9800 was kept, and another mallet was built as number 9801 in 1928.
In combination with the three Garratts that had been built, these five articulated engines helped the LMS through the Great Depression. In 1935, an order of 5 mallets were made, numbered 9802-9806. All these locomotives were fitted with mechanical stokers, and the first two were refitted with them. In 1941 the War Department ordered another 10 mallets, numbered WD-9800-9809. One of them, WD-9807, was sent to France in 1944 to help rebuild and returned by BR's unification in 1948.
In BR days, the mallets were re-numbered to 49800-49816, with the war department locos renumbered as part of the group(49809-49816). However, these locomotives didn't last long, and they began to be withdrawn in 1955, and all were withdrawn by 1958. Only one, No. 49801 survives as a static display engine at the NRM.

Note: This is not canon to Project:Sodor.
