Description
In an alternate universe space aliens adapted to low gravity got stranded in the Solar System during the Devonian period.
They had similar requeriments of light, temperature and atmosphere as Earth life but unfortunately the planet was far too masive to settle it, so they colonized and eventually terraformed the Moon instead.
They took an interest in Earth's lifeforms and so they transplanted some of them to populate the newborn Lunar lakes and oceans.
1 million years later the aliens disappeared without a trace, but the Lunar biosphere survived and continued to evolve on its own.
This bizarre terrestrial bouncing placoderm-descendant is one of the results, 100 million years after the transplant.
