This is a nice piece. I might not have realised this is a portrait of Emma Watson if not for the title but it does capture her likeness. It might be just some minor things, like the shape of her face that is just slightly off/crooked. To my eyes the chin should be a little more to the right in alignment with her nose and mouth. I really like the blue you've chosen and how you've created a textured background. The shading is also really good, though I'm not sure why one side of her top is filled in while the other isn't. The last thing I would say is that her irises 'pop' a little bit too much; unless a person is staring or surprised etc I don't think we can often see someone's entire pupil. It's often slightly hidden by the eyelids. As a whole though I really like this and encourage you to do more of the same!

The top looks exactly like this in the reference image, I swear!
Yeah, something is wrong with the face, getting proportions right is so difficult, but I am working on it!
Thank you for your critique!

Great use of using a single color.
I thought it was Emma at first look, although it is definitely off enough that I wasn't sure until I saw your comments (this kind of looks like a cross between Emma and Ellen Page). I really think it's the shape of her eyes that are what is off about it the most as well as her chin, which is a little too round for Emma, I think.Β

I donβt know why you think she doesnβt look like Emma Watson. I have recognized her immediately. You paint portraits better and better. The composition is just perfect.
What did you do to make that background? Once upon a time I accidentally dropped the brush on paper and the effect was similar to that.

Thank you!
Well, it doesn't look like the reference I used though...
I am not sure what exactly I did on the background. I think it I used a big brush and much water to make random splatters and then wiped the excess water off again after some time. I tried this again today and it looks completely different, maybe because I used a different paper.
