erin - watercolor, acrylic paint and colored pencils on paper, 30x40cm (15.7x11.8 in), june 2014I am not sure how to feel about this painting, I really messed up the shadows under the eyebrows and the chin. On the other hand, the hair was super fun to paint.
The model is ErinBird , who kindly allowed me to her photo !

Your shading is fine, but more importantly, you've captured an impatience in the face that I really like. Portraits often come across as bland, so I applaud you for the portrayal of such a subtle emotion.

My goodness! This is insanely good i'm actually a little shocked right now as I've never had anyone draw/paint me as good as this and the shading on this is superb too!

I guess this is one of the rare cases where the scan looks better than the original - atleast in these areas.
