Nope. Β What temperature is the Earth supposed to be? Β Why? Β If it is such a dire emergency why can you produce all the CO2 you want if you just pay enough tax? Β The same people who can't build a border fence or balance a budget are in charge of controlling global warming. Β If we cut our CO2 to zero, it would still not help.

It should be about 20 degrees cooler. The tax is meant to act as a a disincentive. It isn't meant to allow companies just to pollute. It's obvious that we need to switch to alternative energy not just because of the environment, but also because we can't depend on foreign oil forever.Β

Why did the Earth suddenly get several degrees warmer in the middle ages? Whoops. I guess there must have been an industrial revolution then too. Oh wait, there wasn't. It was the simple effect of an increased amount of radiation from the sun. I'm not saying that we shouldn't switch to "green" energy, after all the oil will run out someday. All I'm saying is that the shift should be gradual as to not damage the world economy or production.

The global warming hype is ridiculous, but why is it inherently stupid? There is overwhelming evidence of global warming and it is possible, though not entirely proven that it is man made, so we try to evaluate our impact on the environment and make changes to our lives to preserve the resources we have so that future generations won't have to pay for our mistakes.
See, when you divorce these things from Political Ideologies you can see them a little clearer.

In order to tell whether the earth is warming or cooling you have to know what temp it should be. How long have we had accurate records? 50 yrs maybe. A 50 yr slice of 4 billion is not much of a sample.
Does that mean I am pro pollution? obviously not. However only very rich nations can concern themselve w/ the environment. Destroying our economy and bringing the rest of the world down too will be worse in the long run. Poor nations care nothing for the planet.

More like a psychological explosion to be more precise. When you see the acetylene gas hose starting to flare up a little at the bottom fastening bolts to a cutting torch, you'll obviously get into a phase where you think your heart was being hit by a hammer, especially for a novice like me. However, thankfully there are safety features to avert such dangerous scenarios like this to prevent the burning fuel from acting like a short fuse leading to both an acetylene and oxygen tank.
