The file is quite large (5MB) , so it might take a while to load or lag like there's no tomorrow. Just be patient
I'm not sure how useful this actually is
I'm hoping that this will be helpful to those of you who want to start animating your emotes 
This is my first tutorial, so any kind of feedback would be much appreciated ^^ Also, if you make any animations using this tutorial, I would very much like to see them :>

Loved the tutorial! If you want to, I made an emoticon template pack that u could put a link to, so if some people are too lazy to make their own they can just use the templates.

I'm getting used to it. I still have to try and save it at least ten times before the animation looks correct...I almost spend more time doing that.

Depends on which cs3 program you have
In Photoshop you have to choose the animation window first to get the frames, while in Fireworks the frames are already out and you can just start drawing in them ^^

Oh, photoshop CS3. xD I already have the animation layers, I'm just having a problem since the backgrounds are transparent and you can see the transitions. x.x Is there a way to make that go away or do I need to add backgrounds to them?

That depends on what you want
Usually transparent backgrounds are the best since you can put them on anything ^^ I don't know what you mean by the transitions though
You don't need to put a background.. just try making it a gif and see what it looks like ^^

You shouldn't need to add a background for that. The problem is something else.
Did you put them on different frames? There it looks like they are all on one frame.
If you have put them on different frames then the layers have been set to be shared across frames. You have to disable it. I don't know how one does that in Photoshop though
Try searching for something related to sharing layers across frames in the help-menu
