I recently introduced my little sister to Phantom, and she has been wantingΒ a paper doll version. I would love it if you made a full paper doll book - I would totally pay you for it!

I absolutely ADORE Christine's design here. I mean, it's just PERFECT. And Erik looks so spindly and elegant! These are fabulous!

I don't know, Christine looks a little....ditzy? I don't know how to describe it, something about her eyes and lips. Eric looks great!

Well, I was going for an exaggerated "hypnotized" like look, inspired by Sarah Brightman performance. I can see how it might be seen as "ditzy" tho. Thank you very much!

I just noticed that the Phantom here seems to be blind in one eye. What happened to his eye?

Cor104 In reply to maxvision92 [2011-09-22 23:53:54 +0000 UTC]
Well, he is not blind. Michael Crawford, the original stage Phantom, wore two different colored contacts when the show first started, the left one was dark and the right was a very pale blue. As mentioned, I think it was just to make the right side of his face eve more distorted. Shortly after the show opened it was decided that putting in the contacts was unnecessary since most of the audience would not even notice such a small detail, but it did look striking in a few photos of MC's Phanton disfigurement. Really, making one eye lighter was an homage to Michael Crawford's brilliant portrayal of the Phantom.

Ah. I wouldn't have been surprised if he was partly blind, as I base my image off of Lon Chaney's equally brilliant performance. Chaney's makeup in that movie always made his eyes seem glazed over.

In some versions of the stories his eye color is mismatched. I have not seen any explanation for this abnormality, though I suppose it just adds to the oddity of his face. He definitely isn't blind in one eye.

The way I see this pic, his right eye is drifting at least; his mastery is of music, not painting, after all; it wouldn't be too out of place.

Well, I have never read or seen a version where his vision is hindered in any way. But I suppose it is up to interpretation. -shrugs-

It's probably not mentioned since it wouldn't really be all that important.

I love her too, but Erik totally steals the scene. I'd draw her eyes a tiny bit bigger, but she looks ok!

You always do such a good job with your paper dolls. While they all feel very unified, you also capture the character of each doll. I like it
Oh, and I always love your "Christine face" when you draw Christine. Haha!
