So since I had fun with the first I decided on doing yet another one. I feel that Joker is SO the Ultimate VIllian of Bats. For There is no Batman without The Joker...but I want to here you guys point of views on these fellers this time 'round..tools> Ps, optical mousekers

my theory on the joker is that he is the opposite of batman
yet exactly the same
he is the road not taken, a priviledged youth who upon the death of his parents delved into madness.

Love the artwork and there is a great duality with Batman and the Joker... but I have to disagree that there is no Batman without the Joker. I agree with the converse of that statement though. Bats is too driven of a character to hang up his war on crime just because the Joker wasn't around.

the joker is the ultimate villian/opposite for batman. batman is so serious and the joker is just merely giddy by desrtoying things, or killing the people of gotham city!!! omigosh >_< he is hust awesomely insane, but i can't help but wonder if batman is also insane...

They're such polar opposites. not only from themselves but from most superheroes and villians as well. Batman is so dark he seems almost the villian at time. brooding and methodical about how he catches his enemies. While the Joker is so delighted by evil deeds he can't help himself. He loves what he does just for the sheer fun of if it.
He's probably my favorite villian for that reason. Most villians have some sort of purpose or gain behind their actions and crime, The joker just does it because he has fun wreaking havoc. Evil is his passion and is proud of it.

Here's an interesting thought: it seems like Joker is hogging more of the picture. It's not a huge difference by any means, but it would be just like the Joker to kinda push the border over so he would show up more. I mean, that's what their relationship basically is. Joker pushes Batman to see what happens. Batman reacts to it and it amuses Joker to no end. And while he may show dismay at the result, it's probably just from it coming to an end.
And as far as technique goes, this started out as one single drawing, didn't it?

I do think the Joker is a great villain, but I'm not sure if there's any way to compare him to other villains. I mean, my idea of him and my idea of the rest of them leaves him as the most interesting and exciting, but it just depends on the interpretation.
For example, Joker is written quite well by Bermejo and Azzarello in Joker, but he's written as a pretty boring character, even a bad one, in The Batman, the 2004 animated series.
But the way I envision him, my ideas about his psychosis and behavior and schemes and even appearance put him at the top of the villain list in my head as compared to my visions for other Batman villains (and all the non-Batman villains).

The colors seemed to blend together nicely, and I just happen to love Batman's ultra frown there.
Though, I wonder if the words on Joker's half would have looked better a dark red...

I just had to fave this one. No question. There's no argument as to which villain is Batman's ultimate arch rival.
Now Superman might open some actual disputes. Some will say Brainiac, others will say Darkseid, some may throw Doomsday in there and others will assert Luthor. I'm curious as to what you think.
