Description PhotoStudio, about ten hours.
May 2008.

I am not so happy with this one, somewhere I lost a bit of contrast when working on the skin shadows.
There is an anecdote that goes with the picture. I saw this shiny girl for real in a bar, a few weeks ago. Same half leaning position, similar shoes, same outfit, probably somewhat longer skirt line. The words "barfly captured" immediately flashed up in my brain. But between the title and the drawing a lot of water passed through the Seine and I didn't remember exactly, what sort of tie I had in mind.

Photo reference for the lady's position and the bar.

Sometimes it's little 'flaws' that make an Artpiece special

I truly like the pose, her expression, the shadows.. that give her
a beautiful glow, and most certainly the idea.

That made me laugh. It seems more like the opposite: by the time I finish one, I more or less hate it.

It caught my eye, I personally like how this looks her facial expression and her skin tone is very nice.

Mm-Hey Baby! You chained here often? Actually I find her skin shadows to be a bit on the dark, delicious side; like fine bourbon. Why I can go for a taste right now.

You are getting better with each picture. Posing, face and expression are just great (as is the ankle shackle). Great work!!

Thanks! Acutally I was less happy with this one, because somewhere I accidently deleted one of the layers of her legs, which I realized only one or two saves later.

To me it looks great - maybe even greater with the lost layer

I remember seeing one of those amusing signs in a cricket club bar once near the beer pumps - "old fart's corner". perhaps something in the above vein is required.

as ever, mate, top stuff. nice shadows.

Nice idea indeed. Difficult things, shadows...

Thanks. Shadows are difficult especially, if one accidently deletes a layer and notices only some time later.

IMO there's nothing wrong in this damsel. Very cute and nicely shadowed. Her expression is perfect.

But there's something wrong in the background. I can see at least three different vanishing points (one for the stool, one for the bar and one for the floor) that makes the overall effect quite weird.

I know, I know, backgrounds are too much of an afterthought for me, a necessary evil...

Very nice, my friend! I really like the composition as a whole; the colors, the pose, and her expression in particular blend together very well and give the piece a real sense of emotion. Looking closely, I see what you mean about the contrast issue, BUT that takes nothing away from the picture in my opinion. Think she looks phenomenal, and I surely envy you your lucky encounter. ^_~

Awesome work as usual, man! Keep the great stuff coming.

Thanks, very much. The "stuff" will keep coming, but I am now down to a trickle of one per two weeks: life is though.

*nods* I hear you, man. Glad you can find the time to create anything for us...and hope that things calm down for you soon. Take care, in the meantime.

There are many different types of bars to appeal to people's different tastes. Too bad there aren't any damsel in distress bars!
