Description PhotoStudio, about ten hours.
March 2008.

The French term odalisque derives from the Turkish-Ottoman word odalik, a female slave owned by a Muslim male as his legal concubine. The odalisque became a favorite theme of European artists in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries as a symbol, in the European view, of Muslim sensuality.

Submitted to Piroro's Asian costume contest: [link]
Background story: Remember King Shahryar? That's Scheherazade's King, the one who liked stories. So much did he like the stories his wife was telling him that he didn't care much for the invitation Sultan Piroro had send him. "A bondage party? Again?" And as he had no intention of binding and gagging his wife, and deprive himself of her stories, he sent two of his harem slaves instead.

Five photo references for the bodypositions, the ties and the background.

There are several things I am not happy with, like the face and the hands (too big!) of the girl on the left.

Β All Slave Girls should be so gently treated, their Masters would be the recipients of greater obedience. Don't believe me? Ever seen a girl in love wanting to do something for her Guy? Ever hear another girl say "I'd do anything for him, just anything".
Treat your girl right give her a reason to do what she's told.Β

I like the way the tops are designed to look fashionable and be designed for bondage. Looks like something that takes two slaves to put on, though.

Very good picture, mate.

Yeah, maybe left odalisque's hands are slightly oversized, but I don't think it's a real problem. The cartoonish style of your pic allows, in my opinion, a certain freedom in body proportions. Big hands are a charachteristics of some great comics artists. And the overall effect is more than fine.

BTW... nice background story, too.

both poses fit very well together. the sheet and skirt is nice drapped and flows around their bodies. Although the ropes on the right girl dont stand out that clear against her richly decorated bra.

Yeah, I tried several colours for the ropes. Nothing worked really well.
The draped clothing was the motivation for the pic, I am glad you like it.

it's a very beautiful piece. The simple, neat, and yet very effective bondage works really well. Everytime i hear the word 'odalisque' i get reminded of art history when i studied the piece 'la grande odalisque' which actually was a painting of a turkish harem woman. I can see what you mean with the left woman's face, the easy way to fix it would be to adjust her eye lid tone to the rest of her face that is in the shadow. I like the addition of the hagia sophia in the back, the blue to black transition connects the figures to the foreground very nicely.

Yes, but the image overall is quite striking, and very worthy of praise. The silhouette of the Islamic-style building in the background (Hagia Sophia?) alone against the blue darkening sky is very enticing, and the costumes and balance of the two figures is enjoyable, especially given their coloration. I like it. A lot.
