So I saw my friend @/drawingwolf17 doing a 26 character challenge, where she has to draw a character for each letter of the alphabet, and it looked really fun.
So I decided to do it too.
I don't know how she's doing it exactly, but I added in the extra rule that I couldn't repeat franchises.
So, like, I did Alice Angel for the letter A, She comes from Bendy and the Ink Machine, so now I cannot draw any other character from that game for any other letter.

DUDE. THIS TOOK FOREVER TO DO THE LINEART. Litterally all day yesterday. SO I gave up on the coloring and shading, I did soft shading cause it was easier to cheat with it. I think it still looks pretty good, but like, I hated the process. I'm gonna be honest, I like really really really heavily referenced that one specific promo image of her, just because I really could not come up with a pose or what the heck she looked like on my own. And I didn't want to cheat and do the fandom's human-ized version of her. Cause otherwise I'd be doing that for Bon and at least 1 more character down the line, and I feel like that's way too cheating, since part of the point of me doing this was to challenge myself.
Anyway, I love Portal. Genuinely with all my heart. It's a really fun puzzle game series (both games are), though I grew up on the first one. It's really funny too, I love GLaDOS's lines, and Wheatley and Cave in the second one and pretty good too. I just, it's a pretty simple game, but this game holds so much meaning for me. Not only is it the thing that got me really obsessed with science (and here I am years later prepping to go into genetics), it was the first game I ever played where I was a girl. I remember being like 7-8, idk, maybe 9, and I did that thing where you put the two portals in the corner and you can look at yourself, and I remember vividly my amazement when I realized that the character you play as, Chell, was a girl. Up until that point, I'd only ever played, and seen videogames where you were a boy. Mario, Sonic, Zelda, heck even Startropics that I watched my dad play. All boys. I just remember for the first time feeling like I belonged in a videogame, and to top it off, GLaDOS and the Turrets were also girls, or at least the turrets had girlish voices. It was a magical experience to me to realize that this was a game about me. If that makes sense. Whenever someone brings up representation and how "it doesn't matter", I always think about how me, a child, got so excited and was shouting about being able to see myself in a game for the first time in my life. (Finding out Samus from Super Metroid was a girl was a similar, albeit less impactful experience since I never played those games)
Sorry about my weird personal rant there. But I genuinely love this series. Portal 2 has some of the best visual gags in my opinion, and it's just a really fun quirky sci-fi series. And if you haven't guessed, Brenda's story takes extreme inspiration from Portal. Idk how you wouldn't have figured that out by now if you know the games, I haven't been hiding it in the slightest, but like, oh well. GLaDOS is by far my favorite psychopathic computer from any work of fiction. (:
