Description
Edit: Thank you very much to C-91 and teundenouden for the DD - and to everyone else for looking! This was a very nice surprise to come home to.I've been experimenting with different ways of creating crystalline shapes in Apophysis, and found an interesting way of doing it in this one. I also wanted to try working with more colours than usual. I find it can be difficult to use rainbow-like gradients without the result looking random/chaotic, but I was pleased with how it turned out in the end.
Made with Apophysis 7X (and Apomap to adjust the gradient).

Thank you very much! The gradient is just a slightly edited version of one of the ones that comes with Apophysis. I use Apomap (it should be available here ) for tweaking gradients.
For the shape, the main structure is a spherical gasket using Spherical3D - the layout is like this . Getting the crystal shape itself required some more trial and error to get it to fit properly and avoid weird overlaps, but essentially, it's just a 3rd transform with sinusoidal (for the square shape) and ztranslate, like this . Hopefully that helps!

Thanks for commenting, in any case - negative feedback is always welcome too, and can be helpful. Is there anything in particular you don't like about it?

Thanks! I've been enjoying making 3D fractals lately... It's surprising how much mileage you can get out of mostly using the Spherical variation.

Thanks! The colours were fiddly with this one - I ended up changing the gradient with Apomap quite a bit. It's a fun tool to use, although I imagine it's easier to do in Chaotica.
