This is my most favorite tale from Hans Christian Andersen: the Steadfast Tin Soldier.
Most of you (who know your fairytales) should know of this story.

A toy soldier with one leg falls in love with a ballerina, much to the envy of the lustful jack-in-the-box.

OKAY!! I know!! In the original story the main villain was a troll or something, but I thought a Jack-in-the-box was a cooler and better adaptation!!

Actually, the main reason I drew this was just to draw Jack who forced me to kind of give him an Andante (from my story Decembersville) feel. In fact, Andante looked like a jack-in-the-box when he was a child! How weird is that? He's kind of an Andante meets Clockman Tinko... thing.

Anyhoo, this is my vision of the story.
