Now don't get me wrong, i love Dr. Eggman, however if its a choice who i like more between Eggman and Robotnik (Aosth or SatAm and even Underground), then i pretty much HATE Dr. Eggman! XDRobotnik has got to be my most Favorite Video Game/Cartoon Villain ever! Dr. Eggman is kinda cool for trying to upgrade the "classic eggman/robotnik" design, but he should have never replaced the True Dr. Julian Ivo Robtnik!
All Eggman seems to be reduced to at the end of most of the newer sonic games, is realizing that there is an even bigger threat to the world compared to him, and then helps sonic defeat it, and usually its his own Fault that more powerful threat even exists to begin with! XP I.E. :
-Sonic Adventure
-Sonic Adventure 2 battle
-Sonic Heroes
-Shadow the Hedgehog (partially, since he didn't create black shadow the Alien)
-Sonic Unleashed (he caused the "bigger threat" but didn't actually help sonic stop it! XP )
and that's all i can think of for now! Anyway, I'd like to know just who out there likes Robotnik more and who likes Eggman more, and give a short reason! XD

No he's not. The Eggman of Sonic X is from Mobius and possesses even less menace than the video game version, the Eggman of the OVA is from a post-apocalyptic Earth (not Mobius) and is more intent on wiping out the opposing kingdom. The only Eggman that is exactly the same as the game is the game Eggman. Granted Sonic X is the most heavily based on him, but he's still not identical.
And I don't like this treatment of different incarnations of the character as completely different. Yes, none of them are the same as the original incarnation, but they are all versions of him. Robotnik Prime is merely an adapted version of Eggman. And Eggman of the games is the original. AND I think with Sonic 4 the Eggman of the games officially bypassed his counterparts in badassery. He conquered the cannibalized the Little Planet and turned it into the Death Egg mk. 2. He almost literally 'roboticized' an entire planet. And not just any planet, the planet that was a shining symbol of nature.

The place where the original games take place isn't in any way related to Mobius,you gotta remember,Mobius is only Canon in the American shows,not the other stuff,and isn't in X either.And it's not that they are different,well they kinda are because they are adaptations,it's that they are different in some ways.

I know this, and I never said Mobius was in the games. The world from Sonic X is, for all intents and purposes, Mobius. It's not named as such, no, but it's clearly conceptually inspired by the place. Sonic X isn't the game canon. In the games Eggman is from Earth, as is the rest of the gang. It's all just plain old Earth. Not 'Sonic's world', not Mobius, just Earth. Each continuity is different, but they're all based on the video games.

He's lying to you. Eggman and Robotnik are the same thing. Robotnik's just Sega of America's attempt to bastardize the character back in the early 90's. Luckily the name is as far as they felt they had to go.

Well If you think of it terms of Actual Real World Reality, Yeah they are supposed to be the same person, just differently styled versions. The Battle between the name Robotnik and Eggman is between Japanese Sega and American Sega. So by those standards yes they are the same. But not. XD
Now if you want to think as in the media's perspective, no they aren't the same. Though they don't completely follow the same storyline or even time line, its assumed that if they did Aosth's Robtonik would be a much earlier version of Dr. Eggman.
Dr. Eggman is actually a Doppelganger to SatAm's Dr. Robotnik from an alternate dimension who eventually ventured into SatAm's reality and took over after Julian's death. He even looked like him only Robotisized.
Later in that storyline after replacing his robotic body for this newer version he was eventually derobotisized and turned into the Current Dr. Eggman and thus changed his name to suit his new appearance.
Much later in the series he goes temporarily insane and in his insane rage he claimed to be all Robotnik's in one by announcing "I am Warlord Doctor Julian Ivo Eggman Robo-kintobor Mach Two!"
But personally i like to just think of him as a completely different person that Aosth or even SatAm's Robotnik. Mostly just based after his background with the comics. And i don't actually hate him, just prefer Aosth's Dr. Ivo Robotnik over all other forms the most!

I'm a fan of the Classics more. I like both, but I prefer the Classics more. AoStH's Robotnik makes me laugh my ass off, SatAM's Robotnik kinda creeped me out in the first episode with like his more Robotic-voice. SU's Robotnik made me laugh at times, and prove my point to my friend that Robotnik's a better bad guy than Eggman. Robotnik took over the world in SatAM and SU. Eggman's NEVER taken over the world..
I rest my case. XD.

Actually, the guy you drew isn't Julian Robotnik, it's AoStH Ivo Robotnik. Julian is that guy with the cape, the robotic arm, and glowing eyes. Eggman's real name is Ivo Robotnik. I personally like Eggman(Ivo Robotnik) best, SatAM Robotnik isn't the scientist he should be and he's lazy.

Trust me, i know my Robotniks. XP And Aosth, very well.
I only added in "Julian" because i like to think that both Aosth's Robotnik and SatAm's Robotnik should really be the same guy, and both are more Real villains worthy of being Deemed "Robotnik" where as Eggman isn't entirely a True "Robotnik", just Eggman.
And for the record, both Aosth and SatAm Robotnik have capes, i just generally tend not to draw Aosth's robotnik with his cause he rarely seems to actually have it on.

Eggman(Robotnik) is that guy from the classics to today's games. I really don't like calling him Eggman, I just call him Robotnik. For what I know, AoStH and SatAM Robotnik are really different, one is silly the other is actually evil but both are great.
Oh, I don't remember AoStH Robotnik wearing a cape, I haven't seen it in a while(or atleast the episodes where he does wear a cape.)

Dr. Robotnik from Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog was named after "Classic" Dr. Robotnik from the original Sonic 1 & 2, Dr. Ivo Robotnik.
However Dr. Robotnik from Sonic the Hedgehog SatAm was named Dr. Julian Robotnik as he was also known in the Archie comics.
Dr. Eggman is of course truly known as Dr. Ivo "Eggman" Robotnik. He seems to have originally rejected his full name for the new nickname Eggman, then later changed his mind but decided to remain being called Dr. "Eggman" just to associate himself with his self established Eggman Empire.
Lastly in some comics such as Fleetway and Archie, Dr. Robotnik's real original name was backwards. In the Archie comics his Real original name was Dr. Julian Kintobor and in the Fleetway Comics his true original name was Dr. Ovi Kintobor. Both these names refer to Dr. Robotnik BEFORE he became evil.
And that should basically cover them all!

His name is Dr. Ivo "Eggman" Robotnik. Eggman is just a nickname.
Its still the same character.

.....It's two different series' two DIFFERENT portrayed Robotniks. Julian Ivo Robotnik, is DiC's. EGGMAN was what he was originally named in JAPAN. But since America actually MADE a name for him, SEGA of Japan sort of adopted Americas name for him.
