Description
A tutorial on how to make a unified color palette, aka how to make colors look good next to each other. Not a lot of people understand how color works, and while this isn't the end-all be-all, it certainly helps when you're stuck. Thanks for looking!

Thank you for making this! I really needed something like that : D But what is the Color Balance Tool that you mentioned?

In Photoshop it's Command B. Or Control B if you have a PC. Or Image, Adjustments, Color Balance. It lets you tweak the colors in certain directions. Hope that helped!

I'm...not sure if this is done right. The whole concept of picking out proper colors is to make it look like they would in real life, with the colors reflecting off each other and other things. I'm no professional, but I look at the "end piece" and just see dead grass and morbid paint.

Yeah this technique is more for artistic renderings, not realism. If you want realism then just copy the colors you see. But the great thing about art is you can tweak the colors to make them look better next to each other, this is just one way to do that

It...still doesn't work out right. I guess if you want to make everything look like it belongs in the apocalypse, that's all fine and dandy...

Yes, because art and colors are supposed to always be exactly what they would be in real life. That's the creative way.
