Days later, everything’s back to normal-ish. Triz remains overly apologetic and weird (I mean, it’s okay already!). As some kind of thanks/apology for being her “reverse beard?”, “fake luvah?”, she sent me one of those new Q-Bit watches that she helped design.

And boy is it fancy! Does everything but make my toast in the morning! Although, it must be said, I mainly use it for the time. Huh. And right now, all it’s doing is sitting there on my wrist reading my heart rate while I glaze over at work, puzzling over my dream from last night. Not another “pillar of smoke and fire” dream, luckily, but one where I was in a hot ‘n’ heavy clench with a, uh, lady.

He wanted to let me know that I was being neglectful in my customer service duties and I should see to the store’s one and only shopper. Li pointed me to him and I sighed. It was the same guy - probably about my age - who had come into the store a few times over the last couple of weeks. He never buys anything, just browses, and Li is convinced this guy has a crush on me. Li delights in referring to him as my “flouncy-haired swain.”

“Go see if you can help him find something he’ll like,” Li says to me with that devilish grin.

I know he’s just meddling, probably bored, but he’s also my boss, so - ugh - here I go.
