Today was my day off!

The original plan was just to chill, eat cereal, and stream either old anime or that show with the nice British people competitively making desserts, while waiting to hook up with Ree to ... probably do the exact same things, only together. But then I got a call from Triz.

She apologized for the late notice, but was begging me to go with her to some company beach barbecue out on Linda Vista Island. That’s where the HQ/labs/campus/“dorms” of QuantUmYeah Inc are located. Apparently, her boss, Quinton Nash, wanted to throw some laid-back celebration for his employees in honor of the successful launch of the company’s latest big project - the Q-Bit watch. And even though Triz has worked there for two years, she still needs a buffer to get her through a big social gathering.

Of course I wasn’t going to let her down, so I said yes. It sounded like fun. But I felt bad about abandoning Ree, so I kind of got Triz to agree to take her along, too ...though I could tell she really had to weigh that decision for a minute.

All glammed-down (yet still gorgeous), she picked me up just after 11:30 or so and we headed off to grab Ree.

Who did not disappoint.

Sorry for the long pause, folks, and an advance apology for the pauses yet to come in my little comic here! Have no fear that I’ve completely fallen under the sway of the golden age heroines and forgotten all about my adorable OC Deej/Djinni. Never! It’s simply that, as the scenes I need to create get more complicated, I’m knocking my head against the wall of my ignorance. My Daz learning curve is steep! But I will soldier on and do my best to keep her story going!
