Quinton Nash’s copter - which I was surprised to see was being piloted by his bodyguard Mrs. Oni - was dropping fast and spinning crazily out of control, as one will tend to do without its tail rotor.

Though it was in my power to do so, I knew not to try and “catch” the falling copter with a “mitt” of solidified air. At the ship’s rate of descent and the momentum it’d built up, that would only pancake the copter as if it had slammed into a concrete wall. I could only buffet it gently with pulsating waves of air resistance which acted to slow it some.

If I had had a few extra hundred feet to work with, I probably could have reduced the copter’s kinetic force enough to bring it in for a landing. It would’ve helped too if Mrs. Oni had been able to read my lips and hand signals to trust me and cut the motors. Getting close enough to try and communicate - while the copter was tossing and turning - wasn’t such a great idea as I suddenly received a very impromptu haircut!

I was running out of time and open air to work with and it was looking like I wasn’t going to be able to do much other than delay and slightly reduce the force of impact, when-

Well, I guess I was just frantically trying to think of a way to cushion the copter’s fall - and somewhere in the back of my mind was the thought of the s’mores I’d wanted to get - because when I looked over my shoulder at the rapidly approaching beach...

...there was suddenly a five-story marshmallow waiting to act as a cushiony, delicious crash pad!
