Okay, so, maybe you’re thinking “oh, Djinni’s a superperson so she’s dealt with all kinds of freaky paranormal stuff”, right? Well, no! You might remember that, until N-Cell and his fembots came along, I’d never messed with a proper superbaddie. Nope. Saved a bunch of folks here and there and stopped a few crimes (haven’t rescued any kittens from trees yet but, when I do, you’ll be the first to know), but, to date, no rampaging giants.

And this was not just a giant, but a cyclops! Like straight out of Bullfinch’s Mythology! The single eye and the terrible breath - the whole nine yards. Now, it’s safe to assume this fella was after the crash-landed She-Hercules, but I had no way of verifying that since he was mostly bellowing at me in a language I didn’t understand. One thing was for sure, he wasn’t happy that I was flitting in his way.

He immediately tried to smush me with one of his huge, gross hands and he was fast enough to nearly succeed! Luckily, my instincts kicked in and I created an air cushion which protected me from both the crush of his hand and the hard stones under me.

There wasn’t going to be a chance to reason with ol’ One-Eye, so I went on the offensive and blasted him back with a focused column of typhoon-strength wind. That caught him by surprise and I felt a little peep of cockiness.

I should’ve maybe held off on that….
