OPINIONS:I do not think Sombra fits with the other High-Class-Villains (i.e the two-parter-villains). Moony, Chrissie and Discord were intelligent villains, who had an overarching plan, while Sombra was just a brute and did not seem intelligent at all.
As an average villain, he was effective and scary, though, but not on the same kind of level as the others.

NMM: We do see that she found a way to make others survive later on, but if it 'night forever' went on, everything would die. We only saw a day.
Discord: Considering how the Discorded 6 acted, they probably would go to either suicide or killing others.
Chrysalis: feeding off love would lead to others hating everything, and would go to the effect Discord's reign had.
Sombra: Looks edgy. Almost ate Spike by accident. Trapped Twilight by accident, and put a curse of depression that seemed to only be able to last a few days (Considering the Empire is ran by the Princess of love).
Is Sombra the worst? No. But he's not appealing in any way. He also didn't use strategies. Everything just went his way because its a kids show. What you guys think is being smart, is just luck being on his side.

He never planned it. He just got lucky. the others planned what they would do. They know what they would do if they won. Sombra went into war, but the others seemed to do fine. Well, I don't know about Chrssi, but she seemed to have a chance in winning.

Unintelegent Brute? He took out twilight with a pair of 1000 year old traps, without ever knowing she was evenΒ there.
Mean while, Discord allowed himself to be blasted by his only weakness, despite the fact that the ponies had clearly recovered from his discordization.
Chrysalis was defeated by her own food.
And nightmare moon was going to freeze everyone to death in an eternal wintery nighttime because she didn't feel appreciated.
over all, Sombra had the best plans, both in the short term and the long term, and only lost because Cadence pulled a last second mary sue.
He is the superior villain.

The villain who thought ahead of his enemies and cursed an entire empire to disappear if he ever gets defeated, and the one whoΒ set up elaborateΒ traps, all of which Twilight felt for, so the Crystal Heart won't be returned, is not intelligent at all? I really think he would have been up there as a better villain if he had a big long monologue or back story like the others did. That made them somewhat relatable in some aspects but Sombra was just a menacing cloud of smoke.

Nightmare Moon did manage to get rid of Celestia. (Unless she was just trolling Twilight already). And Spikes kind of a baby dragon, not that impressive to kill him.

That's quite true but you have to give him, whatever he did did make it bad enough for the ponies of crystal to be terrified of him. So that's a little villain class. I don't think most were SCARED of discord, more annoyed at his insanity.

You see he was supost to be like Sauron from Lord of The rings. Sauron wasn't about what he did during the movie, but about what he did in the flashback and what hes gonna do if he gets his ring. same for Sombra, If Shining did not throw Cadence or Spike dint follow Twilight Sombra would have captured the Crystal Heart and kill everypony who was in the Empire except for The Crystal ponies because he needs them to Spread Hatred and Fear across Equestria as Said by Celestia in the start of the episode. so saying hes a bad villain would be like saying Sauron is a bad villain.
And we all know the worst villain is Sunset Shimmer.

Did you even read my Post? Also the only good quality Sunset has as a villain is the satan form. She has a undevoloped backsotry, typical female bully attitude, weak goal, a none threatning Plan which will fail thanks to Discord being a good guy, and most importantly, a terrible redeemtion.
