Description Here in Missouri about one and a half billion years ago, hot volcanic ash and gases spewed into the air, then cooled, forming igneous rock. Later, shallow seas covered the rock, depositing sedimentary rock. The land rose. The sea fell. The weather began tearing down the land, exposing the volcanic rock beneath it. Waters of the Black River became confined, or "shut-in," to a narrow channel. Now known today as Johnsons Shut Ins, a great nature secret of Missouri. Enjoy!

Beautiful photo. Love the uniformity in how the rocks and sections of waterfall look. Nicely composed.

Reminds me of some of the recent stuff that yenom posted. Have you ever checked out any of his photos?

wow man! REminds me of sword men traveling on cold waters. The angle is good and the colors are well done.
The motion is soft. It also reminds me of an advertisement for water in a bottle.

and the dry color is huge...

Nice capture, you might want to try an ND filter to allow that extra stop to give you more DOF and also longer exposure. When I see this shot I just want to hold the shutter release in a littel longer. but you have captured the colors wonderfully and the rocks certainly are very interedting...one of my favorite subject, geology. take care.
