People are able to know where Chiobetic has been around because everything around it usually turns to ice, thus leaving a trail of ice where it goes and causing the ground, trees, grass, and water to completely freeze solid. Chiobetic's mandible is made completely of ice, but are as strong as steel. Also, Chiobetic has no blood circulation, for its blood is frozen solid. Chiobetic feeds off of other insects and even eats ice as well. Chiobetic is the only Pokemon capable of learning Glacier Release.

While this Pokemon is active, all Rock and Ground-type moves become Ice-type.

I really wanted to make a Bug/Ice type Pokemon. I had to look up a bug that could survive the winter. Stag Beetles have freeze tolerance which means that they can somewhat control the ice that forms in their body. Then, Chione is a minor goddess of ice and snow in Greek Mythology.
