Short Bio

Fudge Fondue is as sweet as her namesake, being that coy little girl that would hide behind her mother’s leg and look up at you with her big eyes. She was a little clingy as a filly, which on one hoof, Pinkie didn’t need a leash for her like she did for Pizza Pockets… but on the other hoof, it was hard to convince Fudge to play with the other little fillies!

Usually, she was well-behaved and didn’t care much for rough play or making messes, preferring to play quietly with her own toys. However, if there was any mischief she did get into, it was banging on pots and pans like drums, or messing with her dad’s accordion in an attempt to figure out how it worked. She was also a bit of a biter, where sometimes, if Pizza made her mad, she bit him.

Even if Pizza annoyed her sometimes, Fudge still considered him her best friend. They have this weird thing about reading each others’ minds and being on the same page in a situation, which helped them whenever they planned something for their parents (later on, siblings) or got themselves out of trouble. Fudge found it weird, considering how starkly different they were, but isn’t she glad that he watches her back.

Unfortunately for Fudge, her eyesight was poor (so she got glasses) and she developed an overbite, which meant that in school, she was a prime target for bullying. There was a period that Pizza got distracted with new friends and Fudge had to fend for herself, but that was corrected quickly and nopony’s allowed to pick on her without facing Pizza as well. It did later extend to Pizza threatening any boy that showed interest in her, much to her annoyance.

She wasn’t very social; even after getting courage to perform in plays and talents, discovering a distinct lack of stage fright… she was still awkward with social interaction. She usually hung out with honorary family or friends like Pumpkin Cake, Sweetie Belle, or Fluttershy.

Fudge was worried about never getting her cutie mark after her brother got his, so she was a Cutie Mark Crusader for a while, trying to find her place. She tried baking, comedy, geology, dendrology, business, psychology, martial arts… but she didn’t have much passion for those. It wasn’t until being at Fluttershy’s house, babysitting both Flutters’ foals and several animals, that she discovered her talent in playing music for them. After that, in her burst of excitement, she set out to learn every instrument—which was hindered by her buck teeth prevent brass and woodwind, so she got braces as a teen.

She grew up to be a very musically-flexible mare—she’ll sing, she’ll dance, she’ll play instruments, and she’ll compose her own pieces. Not caring for fame and not fond of the idea of being away from home a lot like her father—who she always misses to pieces when he’s away—she settled for being a music teacher.

She’s had to put up with just having brothers for several years, all of whom drove her crazy in some way (being it by being overprotective, grumpy, or utterly hyperactive), with her sisters C.C. and Sugar arriving when she was in her late teens. By then, there was too big of a gap to be regular sisters, and she just settled for being a second mom to them.
