Anyway, for my MOTU Mental Reboot AU, I was coming up with an in-universe reason for Orko's 'O' since I figured that Trollans would have a completely different language, alphabet and writing system.

I decided on it being some Trollan symbol of excellence, which then became part of a system where Trollan mages who come of age go on a journey to test their skills, journeying to the Temple of Power and then getting judged by the Star Tree to receive their Mage Emblems.

And the Oracle Ring, the one Orko received? It is the rarest of the emblems, the top dog of them and often considered to be a mark of great destiny.

Watch him get a big head over it, get nervous about living up to his predecessors, and then get smacked with the unfortunate fact of it not really holding any meaning in Eternia when he's flung there--to the Eternians, it's just 'O' for Orko.
