That is so, so cool! I have some heavy copper wire from the destruction of an old building; I think I may try making one of these just to hang in the garden.

I love the surface detailing on this and the Rebel shield! Weathering and "use" are my some of my favorite prop fx. Is it all acid work or do you combo acid/grind/sand?

Not just acids, but other solutions work on copper and aluminum... there is quite a bit of wirebrush and sanding as well.

What do you use to darken the aluminum? Also what's your fabrication to weathering ratio i.e. Which takes you longer?
