Description One never knows if you can trust someone who practices magic... especially if you are bound to them....

The Other Stuff:

This is half size of the one I made, I may put the full size up sometime.

This was somewhat of an ambitious project for me that I was trying to finish up... took a long time ... many layers... but lots of fun.

1) The background I desaturated to match the model and basin a bit better the original color just didn't work for me. I had to change the color of the basin and it locked.

2) The basin is about 5 layers... the base layer is one I use a bit here and there, I put a misty like texture of my own making over that, then I extracted the face of the Victim and placed it in the basin... then put the ripple over that... a bit of blurring here and there and done... I also added a faint glow around the edges.

3) The eyes of the model are actually my favorite part. I did a lot of work to pull that out between hand painting, layer effects, and then doing a rather interesting glowing effect...

4) The magic energy was lightening brushes but I used the supernova effect to do the balls... and then worked a bit of glowing and effects you'd see lighting wise.

5) Shadows, the original background and the model with the basin had neutral lighting... but I finally chose the other model after looking through about 30 model stock images... her lighting was from the right... so I chose that to do the shadow effects.

6) Finally a lot of usage on the perspective tool to fit everything into the basin with the right angles

Originally I was going to have just the model and background... then I added the victim... though I almost had to restart to fit them both in

A special thanks to the stock providers:

This is awesome! Seriously! Excellent work blending the models to create a believable unified lighting and...and her eyes look amazing! Your hard work and effort are plain to see

The only thing that I think stands out a bit are the supernova effects. They are rather bright compared to the rest of the scene and draw a lot of attention. Perhaps if the effects were blurred, which would smooth their edges and soften their presence, it would counteract the brightness. It would be really cool if you could blend the supernova effects into the lightning, so the forks of lightning appeared to originate from the orbs more convincingly. But otherwise, I think it looks great!

Thanks for using our stock! One of the best works I've seen of yours yet!

Thanks, I was thinking of something as well along those lines... the blurring might be a good idea I'll try it and let you know. Finally got free time again, thanks!
