Description
Hey there, all you aliens and monstrosities out there! How's life been treatin' ya? If you're like me, the first two weeks of school have been absolutely killer having to slip back into the waking up early routine and being stuck in place you don't want to be for eight hours on end before you're granted sweet release; as if having Physics at the beginning of the day and Algebra at the end wasn't bad enough . . .But enough of my complaining. After a groanfest at school today, I thought I'd head down to the ol' underground laboratory and fire up the genetic splicer just for kicks (and maybe creating freakish monsters or badass aliens helps me relax) when this guy came out. I give you a redesign ofΒ YakkoWarner20 's alien, Battler!
Onto the facts!
Name: Battler
Species: Chiromatus
Homeworld: Fyllostomeedina
Powers/abilities: Battler possesses strong chest and wing muscles that allow him to carry his nearly man-sized through the air with ease. This also allows him to whip up powerful gusts of wind and gals to knock over objects and blow back opponents that get too close for his liking.
Chiromatus are capable of firing off pitches of sound too high for the human ear to hear, thus possessing an incredible sense of echolocation. This can be harnessed and turned into a more lethal attack however when the pitch is toned down to the hearing level of most species and turned into an ultrasonic blast of pure sound capable of shattering every window in the Empire State Building (which Ben accidentally did do once when he was still getting use to the forms' powers).
Battler has incredible hearing and can pick up on even the most minute of sounds, everything from a dog barking ten miles away to the clicking of an ant's jaws right at his feet.
Battler has strong feet and talons that he can use to pick up objects as heavy as himself.
Battler possesses enhanced agility when in the air.
Chiromatus have incredible night vision and can see better in the dark than a man with night vision goggles.
Weaknesses: Battler's impressive wings are his weakness. If they are damaged in anyway, he'll be out of commission.
Battler is quite helpless on the ground as his large wings prevent him from moving about quickly enough to prove useful, thus proving to be a hindrance; he must stay in the air whenever possible.
Bright lights and daylight in general is a huge problem for Chiromatus as they are nocturnal creatures and are easily blinding by intense lights.
Loud sounds also prove to be a nuisence to Battler's oversized ears and can render him incapacitated if loud enough. Certain pitches however, will be enough to render him unconscious while a single, specific pitch will outright kill him.
Trivia: The Chiromatus homeworld derives from the family that Leaf-nosed bats, specifically the vampire bat, belongs to -Β Phyllostomidae.
Battler bares slight resemblance to the Pokemon Noivern and the Batman villain Manbat.
Chiromatus live in large colonies of roughly twenty individuals and their offspring all led by one Alpha pair, followed by a group of roughly ten Beta subordinates that function as a council as well, before finally ending with the Deltas, the bottom of the colony heirarchy.
Chiromatus colonies are open enough to let other Chiromatus join them, even if they come from across the expansive ravines that divide the planet. Sometimes the Alpha male will challenge other males within the colony to gain a higher position and assert his domanince over those beneath him. Should they lose however, they are still very loyal to the Chiromatus within their colony and will remain with them and protect them for as well as they are welcomed.
Fyllostomeedina is a planet consisting of massive forests whose canopies block out all and any light, earning the nickname "Nyx Patches" as a result, and even bigger craggy mountains whose peaks just barely scrape the edge of the planet's atmosphere. Likewise, gigantic gorges, ravines, canyons, and crevices slice and dice Fyllostomeedina into dozens of high-cliffed 'continents all wormholed with tunnels and caverns that the Chiromatus make as their home; they sleep upside down with their tails curled around stalactites, their claws digging into the rock, and their wings wrapped around themselves like blankets.

Eh, they're more or less the same, at least when it comes to body type, so probably not.

It's like everyone does a Man-bat alien. Why though? It's a villain from Bat-man, why make it a Ben 10 alien?

I think it's more along the lines of a lot of people want to make a bat-like alien since some of Ben's aliens bear resemblance to Earth animals - such as Rath, Humungousaur, Ball Weevil, among others - and a bat was one that hadn't been done yet that had abilities that hadn't been done yet (before Whampire debuted, that is). The fact that it oftentimes bears a striking resemblance to Man-Bat is probably sub-unconsciouslyΒ done in some regards.

If you look in the trivia notes, Noivern was (at least in part) some inspiration behind Battler's redesign.

Once again, you did a marvelous job! Just one question; What about his power to have his wings and claws on his wings to act like super strong blades?

Nothing against you, but while your alien's are phenomenal and interesting in their own right, they are a tad over powered. It is well known that a good portion of Ben's alien's are faster, stronger, more durable, .etc when compared to humans, but this is a tad ridiculous. I'm attempting to downgrade them just a tad so they aren't too overpowered and their Ultimate forms make a little more sense.
For instance, the first alien of yours that I did, Lock Pierce; you had him capable of running just as fast as XLR8 with vision that allowed to see across half the country despite this not pertaining to his specific, lock picking ability.
The bladed wings for Battler is something I believe would be better suited for his Ultimate form, an ability that allows him slice through solid rock and steel due to his more durable skeleton.
Basically, I'm trying not to let your alien's end up like Ultimate away Big did. He was a cool idea, really he was . . . until he actually appeared. Don't get me wrong, it was still awesome, but his design seemed lazy. Sure they made him bigger than before and his normal abilities are enhanced (all Ultimate forms are) but after that, they turned parts of him blue, gave him horns, and let him be able to fly . . . it just seems like they threw him together at the last second.
I mean look at Ultimate Humungousaur, my favorite of the Ultimates. He gets bigger, stronger (probably not faster considering his bulk), more heavily armored than before . . . and he has freakin' Bio-Gattling guns! How cool is that? A good majority of the Ultimate firms were well thought out and designed, but Ultimate Way Big is sadly not among them.
Long story short, I'm trying to make your alien's more believable without them overpowering each other so Ben can rely just on any form to get the job done; the whole point of the show is him turning into the right hero and saving the day, or getting turned into the wrong hero and adapting to the situation; hard to do when you have an ace in the hole.
I do however, keep a good majority of the alien's powers, and the originality is something I try to preserve without the form too overpowered.

Ok, I do see what you mean. Most of my aliens that I made up I made them in my last year of middle school, right around season 3 Β or 4 of the original series. And I wanted them to be so cool, in contrast to Ben's other aliens. Basically, I didn't know what I was doing back then. But I have learned much since then.
I try to keep my aliens believable as well.

That's fair enoughI suppose. And what exactly wasn't cool about Ben's other aliens?

True, true. Would you mind if I made some changes on this? Not that I don't love what you did, cause I do. I'm just updating my aliens.

Sure, go ahead. They're technically your aliens.

Ok, I just finished Battler. He has the same pose, but I made his ears slightly bigger, same with his chest fur, gave him a band on his tail, made his tail slightly shorter, made the folds of his wings gray, made his bigger, kept his yellow irises and gave him green pupils. I was debating on whether or not to give him a collar.

I think the collar should stay on the canine-like alien's like Blitzwolfer and Wildmutt. A hooker vest like Kickin Hawk or a standard belt would work better (in my opinion at least).
