Description T'was Brillig

And the slithy toves

Did gyre and gimble in the wabe,

All mimsy were the borogoves

And the mome raths outgrabe . . .

Ah, here's something I bet you didn't expect! Believe it or not, this is NOT a Nemetrix predator that I am being asked to do for the Ben 10 Reboot project run by the TheWalrusclown . Rather, this was a predator suggested and conceived by a loyal reader of my "Once Upon a Tennyson" fanfiction story for my OC Omnitrix alien, Jigsaw . Both creations were, in actuality, suggested by Isom , so kudos to you, my friend!

Name: Seducire

Species: Grinning Tulgeline

Home World: Carrillam XIII

Prey: Dodgjierian (Jigsaw's species)

Powers/abilities: The very tips of Seducire's dagger-like teeth, sharp claws, and a pair of club-shaped spines hidden within the fluffy fur of its two tails secrete a special enzyme that specifically targets the reality-warping capabilities of the Dodgjierian, rendering them incapable of their wacky wit and delight gags that they often employ to defeat enemies.

In addition to neutralizing its rather odd prey, the enzymes of the Grinning Tulgeline have a rather interesting effect on the Dodgjierian species. It seems that once scratched, bitten, or stung by Seducire, the intelligence of the Dodgjierian decreases dramatically - arguably more so than before - and their senses begin to act rather funny. According to survivors of various encounters, males will generally see an all too deductive and alluring female beckoning them forward while females will see a highly desirable male wishing to spend time with them; the Dodgjierans are lured right into the waiting Grinning Tulgeline's jaws where they are quickly dismembered.

Grinning Tulgeline are able to manipulate the space around them, giving them the allusion that they are actually teleporting when in actuality they could simply be walking at a leisurely pace after their prey. This allows them to also seemingly phase right through solid structures and objects.

Seducire possesses enhanced senses of hearing, smell, and sight.

Interestingly enough, Grinning Tulgelines are actually capable of speech though it is noted that, like parrots, they only repeat verses and words at random without actually knowing what they are saying, which usually irritates and sometimes even maddens visitors to Carrillam XIII's strange atmosphere. Oddly enough, the one phrase they do seem to understand and repeat any chance they get is "We're all mad here.", over and over again until one might become just as mad as they seem to be.

Weaknesses: Seducire is not immune to the effects of Jigsaw's cartoon-like powers until the Dodjierian is injected with its specialized enzymes.

Seducire is however, immune to the pheromones that Dodjierians give off that lower a species' intelligence level.

Water and other liquids are not something Grinning Tulgelines are fond of and will attempt to avoid large bodies at all costs. They are however, capable of swimming and - given enough incentive - will gladly chase fleeing prey that thinks attempting an escape by water is a good idea.

Grinning Tulgelines are easily frustrated by tongue-twisters as they have difficulty repeating them without messing up. As such, once they hear a tongue-twister, they'll whatever they are doing until they can manage to recite the whole thing without tripping over their words, providing ample time for prey to make a quick escape.

Etymology: Seducire's name is a portmanteau of the words "seduce" and "Cheshire", both of which reference her abilities and appearance, respectively.

Trivia: Seducire is a clear reference to the Cheshire Cat from Alice in Wonderland. Other inspirations include Totoro and the Catbus from My Neighbor Totoro.

The species name is both a combination of the the words 'feline' and the Tugley Woods, where the Cheshire Cat from Alice in Wonderland can most often be found. The 'Grinning' part alludes to the species' ever constant smile.

Due to the special capabilities of both species, as well as the rest of the inhabitants on Carrillam XIII, a predator/prey relationship between Dodjierians and Grinning Tulgelines closely resembles a slapstick cartoon. Some Dodjierians even willingly put their lives at risk and willingly allow themselves to be chased by their predators as a means of entertainment, as their results are usually more hilarious than horrifying.

There are actually many subspecies of Tulgelines, with the Grinning Tulgeline being the most common species. Other species include Frowning Tulgelines, Leering Tulgelines, Screaming Tulgelines, Whimpering Tulgelines, and perhaps the most vicious of all, Frumious Tulgelines.

Grinning Tulgelines  - unlike their Frowning cousins - live in small to medium prides led by an alpha female with roughly seven male betas and three male deltas, all of which mate with the female but don't partake in rearing the young. They instead spend most of their time out hunting and bringing food back to their Alpha while she rears a litter of roughly twenty-three infants commonly called Sniveling Tulgelines, as they often produce whimpers and cries that sound oddly baby-like in nature.

Captive Grinning Tulgelines that are raised from infancy actually make good pets and are common companions to young children. As they grow older, they are surprisingly protective and loving of their young owners and will behave much like a living teddy bear, always ready to hug and snuggle and simply love being part of the family; some Grinning Tugelines have even been trusted enough to act as a young child's bodyguard or nanny and will follow and protect them wherever they go. This also means that should their charges ever be put in danger, that they are a force to be reckoned with and have been known to overly protect their owners for hours on end long after the danger has passed.
