Description The fourth of but a series of aliens requested by   by yours truly!

Onto the facts!

Name: Scorpio

Species: X'ieh

Homeworld: Venenumterra

Powers/abilities: Scorpio's most noteworthy ability are the four kinds of venom that he carries in the segments of his tail. While the tail itself is very flexible and even prehensile to a degree, each venom has a different effect on those that are stung:

- The first segment is a paralyzing toxin that causes those who are stung with it to lose the ability move

- The second segment contains a sleeping toxin that puts the victim to sleep

- The third segment produces a toxin that will cause a person or object that is stung with it to rapidly increase in temperature until it violently explodes

- The fourth and final segment produces an antidote to all three toxins

The X'ieh possess a considerable level of strength in their pincers and can easily crush a motorcycle between them. In addition, they are capable of holding both Scorpio's weight and the additional weight of at least five humans and a German shepherd.

The X'ieh are capable of scaling vertical surfaces, like walls.

Scorpio can fire the non-lethal spikes from his chest in order to pin and trap opponents.

Weaknesses: Because he doesn't have any set of digits, Scorpio has difficulty utilizing touch-sensitive objects such as keyboards, communicators, phones, doorknobs, and steering wheels.

The X'ieh have bio-luminescent qualities when exposed to the darkness, making them an easy target in dark places.

Scorpio can be affected by his own poison darts if he were to be struck by them.

The X'ieh are poor swimmers due to the poor surface area of their legs and limbs offering no support or mode of locomotion in the water.

Etymology: Scorpio is named after the constellation of the same name, in addition to referencing his scorpion-like appearance.

Trivia: The species name is a corruption of the Cantonese word "xie", which translates to "scorpion".

The species' home world stems from the Latin word "venenum", which means "poison", and the Latin word "terra", which means "land". Put together, Venenumterra literally means "poisoned land".

Scorpio is strongly modeled after the Pokemon, Drapion , and takes further design cues from the League of Legends champion, Kha'Zix .

The X'ieh are considered to be a primitive, if not friendly race who are in the very beginnings of sentience. Though there is very much about their world or their place in the universe that they understand, they nonetheless have developed basic tools specially adapted for their claws, a rudimentary mathematics system, and have begun the process of agriculture. Despite this, they have a deep understanding of chemistry, specifically poisons and toxins, and their affects on various organisms.

Though they are friendly, the X'ieh are also very cautious when they encounter something or someone that they are unfamiliar with and often their first instinct will be to sting it in order to see how it will react. This is because many species on Venenumterra, both herbivorous and predatory, have evolved to effectively camouflage themselves as other objects or creatures, as well as a variety of nasty toxins for various uses.

Venenumterra is a far flung, forgotten planet whose surface was once dominated by an ancient, unknown race simply known to the X'ieh as "the Builders", who have formed a religious cult around their mysterious progenitors. What little has been gathered from the ruins of the Builder's once prosperous civilization seems to hint that they were once masters of genetic manipulation and used these techniques to uplift an assortment of species from their home world to use as a labor force. What became of them is uncertain, but the ruins strongly suggest that the Builders succumbed to their own hubris and rendered their entire species sterile as a result of their genetic experiments; the X'ieh are unaware of all this, as they are unable to understand the inscriptions the Builder's left behind.

You should put the chapter these transformations first appear in the story's you write, like this alien first appeared in ( name of story)(chapter#) and if something like feedback versus malware happens, this alien was killed in (story name) (chapter#) by (explanation)

A vast majority of the aliens I make don't appear in my stories, such as this one. Most of the aliens I make are not of my design and are merely requests from other people or another artist's alien that I have taken a shot at drawing. While that does technically mean I drew them, it also technically means I didn't; get the picture?

There are over 1000 species of scorpions but only 25 of them have venom that's deadly to humans.

And there's one simple, easy rule to remember which ones are venomous and which aren't: the smaller, the deadlier.

A fusion between Scorpio from Pokemon and Caterkiller from Sonic the Hedgehog (1991)

Well, I'm pretty sure if someone asked me to make an alien based on a tiger and Rath never existed, I would probably draw something pretty close to him.

I made Felineko and they're cousin to Appoplexian. Gwen's Felineko is called Wildcat while her Appoplexian is Kickclaws.

Well, damn. This is almost exactly like my scorpion alien. Just different colors, build, and no multiple venoms. Even has the same name. Fuck me.

I believe that's what you call a freaky coincidence. Out of all your aliens, I haven't even seen that one.

Haven't posted it yet. I was working on posting the original Snare-Oh next. But with my job, time is scarce.

Yeah, I can relate. I might. It have a job yet, but my final year of high school is no walk in the park, especially with graduation coming up. Ugh.

So then you haven't made much progress on Biter or Volto then? Meh, don't really matter. It's not like I ever give you a deadline or anything.

I do have a final, inked sketch for Biter (Volto's next and I haven't colored Biter yet), but I might take a second crack at him. He's not to complicated compared to your other aliens (speaking of which, I might do a visual update for Locke Pick and Black Dragon when I have the time now that my artist skills are significantly better.

Danny-Buckle [2017-03-27 21:41:12 +0000 UTC]

I love this design. It feels like something that Thomas Perkins would've crafted; being familiar enough for people to not feel repulsed by it, but also unique and odd enough to fit the description of "alien".

I also really like his power-set. It's simplistic, yet effective. He kinda feels like an invertebrate equivalent to Hawkeye and Green Arrow, with the whole "projectiles with numerous effects" thing, which is also cool.

Really, everything about this one works splendidly, and I'd like to commend both you and Animefmly for this wonderful addition to the Omnitrix's DNA Collection.

That means a lot, being compared to the great Tom Perkins! Thx!

On a side note, I finished a rough sketch of Crocduster and, as requested, I used various parts from different Pokemon. That being said, it feels kinda . . . off to me in a way. Maybe I'm missing something that I didn't get from vision? Either way, let me know what you think and I'd be more than happy to make any modifications you might have: sta.sh/01bxjh55kpgw

You're welcome.

I see what you mean. Looking at it, I see what I imagine a young version of the transformation would look like. Maybe this design could be utilised for a more youthful member of the species, and the adult form could have longer features, becoming less like a Dodo and more like a thinly-beaked Phorusrhacid?

(Sorry about how late this was. I've been really busy)
