Hey, we're getting into a rhythm here aren't we? No longer waiting months or nearly a year for me to post now, huh? Well, truth be told, this one was a little delayed due to circumstances beyond my control, but I'm still glad I managed to get it out at a decent rate, considering my track record.

Anyways, this one was a commission by the always faithful and long-time watcher, , who wanted to see an Omnitrix alien with a specific set of abilities that may or may not be at their disposal. This one was really fun and much needed after a semester of having to make things fit such a specific criteria, especially since they let me go nuts on the appearance. Here's hoping it's satisfactory!

Onto the facts!

Name: Oversight

Species: Retinguid

Home World: Fovean

Powers/Abilities: Oversight's most notable ability is that of vision faculty - that is to say, different sets of vision. The wide variety of specialized cones in his three eyes enable him to see into multiple spectrums of light and planes that would otherwise be invisible to species with an otherwise limited spectrum at their disposal. All three of Oversight's eyes turn a different color when using a respective type of vision:

- Infrared is a bright red and enables him to see heat radiation and signatures, much like Earth pit vipers.

- Ultraviolet is represented by lavender and allows him to see in ultraviolet, as well as anything that may be concealed by it.

- X-ray is a dull white and lets him see through most solid materials and objects, including living organisms.

- Clear sight is represented by pink, enable to see through the mana used in concealing or glamour spells, allowing him to see who or what they are hiding.

- Radio waves can be visually observed when his eyes turn yellow, allowing him to track the frequencies given off by electronic devices, such as cell phones.

- Microwaves can be detected when his eyes turn blue, letting him track radar and lines of communication.

- Gamma rays may be seen when his eyes turn orange.

By default, Retinguids are able to perceive both the same and far more colors than humans can. At the same time, they are also able to see in varying levels of light, possessing both twilight and night vision.

Oversight can fire a green energy beam from any of his three eyes. These can be fired all at once to cover a wider area or rapidly staggered like a gattling gun to create a series of short blasts. Whatever their form, they are powerful enough to slice through steel beams with ease and crack concrete.

Retinguids lack any bones in their arms, instead relying on layers of elastic muscles to properly use them and their hands. This allows them to stretch them over long distances and twist them into irregular shapes that would otherwise be impossible for species with a complete endoskeleton. They are strong enough to at least hold the weight of one of Dr. Animo's mutant frogs.

By using his elastic arms like a slingshot, Oversight can launch him over great distances, making him quite acrobatic.

Weaknesses: Compared to Opticoids, Retinguids have a much small range and field of view, being only able to fire their eyes in one direction at any given time. This also means that they can be snuck up on and taken by surprised if approached from somewhere they can't see.

While his infrared vision allows him to see heat radiation, Oversight may lose track of those that hide of fight in locations with high temperatures. He is also incapable of seeing opponents that either lack a heat signature, such as Ectonurites, or whose body temperature is the same as their surroundings, such as ectothermic species.

A Retinguid's X-ray vision is unable to pierce through lead or other highly dense materials.

If an irritant gets into his eyes, Oversight's eyes will burn and he will be unable to see clearly, no matter what spectrum he taps into.

Though capable of holding particularly heavy objects, Retinguid's don't have much lifting capacity. They primarily rely on the potential energy produced by their arms to haul significant weights over long distances and are incapable of lifting them over their heads.

Etymology: By definition, the word "oversight" refers to an error or unintentional failure due to lack of attention or carelessness. In Oversight's case, his name refers to his multiple sets of vision and how they might be overcompensation.

Trivia: The species name is derived from the retina, the innermost and light-sensitive layer of the eye.

The species' home world is taken from the fovea centralis, a small, central pit in the made of tightly-packed cones in the eye.

Oversight was made as an experiment to see if another 'eye alien' could exist without completely infringing on the same territory as Eye Guy, while also serving as a variation of him. While Eye Guy has more offensive capabilities, Oversight is more maneuverable and more suited in gathering intel and tracking down targets.

Much like Earth amphibians and Galvans, Retinguids undergo a metamorphosis with multiple life stages as they grow. When first hatched from their collective egg sac, they closely resemble tadpoles with long pectoral tentacles that they use to crawl around on land. After about a year, they start to develop their back legs and a thumb and become less reliant on the water for respiration. By the time their six years old, they have fully developed hands and disproportionately short legs that require them to lift their arms over their head or else let them drag on the ground behind them as they walk. By the age of ten, they more closely resemble their parents, but have yet to develop the bands on their arms or completely reabsorb their juvenile tail; they are considered fully mature by the time they are twenty-six.

During the first years of their life, Retinguids are completely herbivorous and mainly feed on mosses and lichens, plants that are easily within reach. As they grow however, they start to develop the ability to process animal proteins and become omnivores by the time they are fully grown.

The bands on a Retinguid's arms considered to be attractive, as they highlight the length, flexibility, and overall health of an individual. A lack of these bands indicates adolescence, while a fading of the band's color is a sign of age or illness.

As a result of their wide-range of vision, Retinguid society has little concept of light. Whereas many species, such as humans, developed electricity as a means of producing light for better visibility, Retinguids simply had no need to and often relegate the practice to lighting up nurseries until the cones in their young's eyes have fully developed.

Fovean is a low Level 4 planet that has yet to develop simple anti-gravity projectors or nuclear fission.

The fourth planet in its system, Fovean is a dwarf planet orbiting a Class G star that completely lacks any natural satellites or moons. With a temperate climate, its atmosphere is largely comprised of Argon, with levels of oxygen comparable to that of Earth. With only a single ocean that some might classify as a gigantic, inland sea, the surface has a primarily dry, temperate that is dominated by immense karsts gouged out by eons of groundwater eating away at the limestone. It is here that the Retinguids evolved as a montemeal species, using their elastic arms to bridge the gaps between the stone needles and using their hyper-focused eyes to carve out hollows in the rock to live in. Even as a low Level 4 planet, they still live in these artificial caves, some of which are several thousand years old and have housed countless generations.
