Description Been a while, hasn't it? Just wanted to let you all know that I'm still alive, haven't forgotten about all your requests and commissions, and am working through them as best as I can with the time that I'm allowed. That being said, I'm also trying to further develop my skills as an artist by primarily shifting from traditional forms of media towards digital as it allows for more options and a faster completion time (in most cases).

This was more or less an experiment, so do not expect this to be option for commissions any time soon. The choice to make a piece digital is entirely up to me and whether or not I think I can do it or not with the amount of time that I've been given, so please don't come requesting to me that you want your piece in digital.

That being said and done, this ones been a long time coming. Several eons ago, requested that I create a Nemetrix predator for their Omnitrix alien, Battler . I was more than happy to oblige and while the process took a lot longer than I expected, there's no time like the present, so here it is in all its predatory glory!

Onto the facts!

Name: Scuttleraptor

Species: Scuttleraptor

Homeworld: Fyllostomeedina

Prey: Chiromatus (Battler 's species)

Powers/abilities: Scuttleraptor has enhanced reflexes, agility, and speed sufficient enough to keep up with and overpower a Chiromatus.

Scuttleraptor posses a large, scythe-like claw that it can use to stab its prey to death, primarily by attacking the wings in order to ground its prey.

Scuttleraptor's main method of attack is by unleashing a powerful, high-pitched scream in order to stun its prey. These sounds are at just the right pitch to render Chiromatus unconcscious from a single hit and in some cases kill them on contact.

Scuttleraptors are covered in a protective shell of armor that is resistant to a Chiromatus' claws, making it difficult for them to be picked up. In addition, this shell is resistant to a Chiromatus' ultra-sonic blast, absorbing the sound and dispersing it over a wider area to make it more bearable.

Scuttleraptor's have enhanced senses of sight and smell, as it was able to effortlessly track down Ben through the darkest levels of Undertown with little difficulty.

Like many species of deep sea creatures, Scuttleraptors posses a ring of bio-luminescent bacteria at the end of their tails that allow them to communicate with others in complete darkness. Chiromatus are unable to detect red light, thus rendering a Scuttleraptors signals practically invisible.

Weaknesses: Despite being covered in a protective shell, Scuttleraptors can still be picked up and dropped from a great height if grabbed correctly. This tactic is the most effective way to kill a Scuttleraptor as they are likely to either land on their soft underbelly or have their shells cracked open like a walnut, killing them.

Scuttleraptors can be harmed by electricity.

Being subterranean cave dwellers that spend their entire lives underground, Scuttleraptors are sensitive to bright lights.

Etymology: Scuttleraptor's name is a portmanteau of the words "scuttle" and "raptor", which could refer to both the bird of prey or the family of Dromaeosauridae dinosaurs that species such as Velociraptor and Deinonychus belong to.

Trivia: Scuttleraptor's name is similar to that of the Scuttlecrab, a passive monster in the MOBA game League of Legends.

Scuttleraptor's design is based on that of unused concept art for Crabdozer.

Unlike their older relatives, infant Scuttleraptors have proven to be mostly beneficial towards Chiromatus colonies, as they instinctively sift through and eat the copious amounts of biological waste they produce their the first few months of their life in order to gain the nutrients they need to grow; this is known as coprophagia. The infants - known as pups - aren't picky eaters and will eat anything that falls to the cave floor, be it leftover food scraps or Chiromatus that have fallen from their perch. In the case of the latter, the Chiromatus have only a few minutes to pull themselves out of the massive pile of waste before they are devoured; pups are abandoned at the edges of colonies by their parents as soon as they are born.

Upon reaching adulthood, the infants are quickly chased away to the darker recesses of the cave before they become to cozy with their arrangement.

While normally solitary hunters, Scuttleraptors have been known to join up and form pseduo-packs with other members of their species, sometimes forming official packs if they like the relationship well enough.

Attempts have been made by the Chiromatus to tame members of the species, but Scuttleraptors have proven to be too feral to train.

Looks like a predator to a Basalt (Rock's species) so it rips them apart with their claws and eats them.

I figured a predator for rock-based species would also be rock-based in appearance, or at least be more heavily built to withstand the most likely crushing blows sent their way. A Rocks predator - in my opinion - would most likely possess a drilling horn (think Armadillo but on the face or head), grinding jaws to grind the resulting debris into gravel for consumption (sharp teeth aren't exactly ideal for such a task), a club-like tail for further damage, a bulky body to tank defensive hits, and perhaps even the ability to spit lava to melt their prey alive (since lava/magma is molten rock hot enough to melt said rock).

Nice work for your first digital drawing! If you don't mind me asking though, is this a "natural" member of the Scuttleraptor species or is there a Nemetrix somewhere on here that I am missing?

It's a Nemetrix predator. It's done in a profile view and since I had trouble getting a collar to work on this thing, the Nemetrix disk is fused to the forehead like it was on Pyrotaur , albeit it was slightly turned so you could actually see the insignia. And thx! Hopefully I perfect it in the in the future.

Nice. Very nice. I honestly prefer this over the plant based lifeform in the recesses of my mind.
