Hey there, finally I'm proud to present my DeviantArt redesign. This is just an example of a profil page (:I tried to make something new, a new UI, some new colours...
I used the 77chen artworks , her work is just mindblowing ! c: Be sure to check her gallery

Je suis moi même designer (bien plus orienté flatdesign cependant) et je suis sur le cul face à ton talent si précoce. Une grande harmonie dans les idées et les couleurs, c'est impressionnant.

I have to say that I'm not a big fan of the darker color scheme, but the overall layout and the thumbs look pretty awesome.

Having a more neutral background (like a soft colour, take dA green for example, it's a desaturation greenish colour) will make the deviations stand out more

This looks really awesome. It will be more awesome if this is how every profile page looks like though I know not everyone would like it. Only if there was an option in which you can choose what ever color you want your page to look like.

The biggest issue with your design is it's hazy. It's basically nothing but one colour. This never works. When you are in the process of creating a new design, you need one basic scheme - in your case that would be blue, which is followed by 1) either complementary colours (with that you can be sure the colours will fit) or 2) picking colour(s) of your choosing.
If you look at current dArt, it revolves mostly around the colour green, but consits not only from but including bits and pieces of black, lime, light grey, including colourful elements, illustrations. In your design, where there are some images, they're still the same colour - blue or its variations. Your design simply lacks a spark, which would bring the site to life.
There are other reasons why the design simply would not work, what I just said are the simplest things on the colours themselves.

I know right for that, this is the first time I tried this kind of UI, I just focused on the organization of this page. I rushed the color scheme, so nevermind if most of people doesn't like (:
Other than that for the colors, I could just simply take the same scheme colors of the actual dA with the same details, but I would try something new
I know how to make the v2 clearly anyway

Wow, each pic is perfect with that theme! However, I must say, I would like a choice in the colors, 'cause I feel it might not be the same for others.
I like the layout, especially the left side bar, because the drop-down list when I click on the down arrow is really cluttered... and honestly, I only use 5 of the buttons anyways.

Hmm I didn't put every button from this list, I added the main to don't have the look longer. But I think even with every button, that could stay decent in real ^^

Doing this via Stylish (firefox plugin) seems possible with some restrictions but it'd probably be pretty work intensive and difficult to maintain.

I like how modern it is but this would be terrible legibility wise. There needs to be more contrast and colors that won't tire your eyes so quickly because you're straining to see the text. The textures and gradients are wonderful and I like the organization. Again, it's just color palette that looks nice here but in practice, it wouldn't work for too long.

Yeah I know I talked with Stvz below this. Moreover I tried to see this on different monitors, sometimes the contrast looks perfect, on some other, it's clearly shit. Contrast and luminosity is different each time so...
