So again, why harass someone else for something that doesn't effect You?

A lot of alicorn OCs tend to be horrible Mary Sues, so if you read enough fanfic you know what to expect when someone's super-edgy super-powerful godpone shows up. There are totally absolutely definitely OC alicorns that are not like that at all and are wonderful characters, but you can see why it might not be what someone who doesn't know you might expect when they first see your character has wings and a horn just like the goddesses of this universe (if we don't count the blink and miss animation errors.)
But I don't go nuclear on people about their OCs - come on, people, even in the case of the worst Mary-Sues, a lot of writers and artists are kids - you know the show's target audience! - and even the best of us probably have some things we're not proud of in our earliest work. All this is fiction, but real people out there deserve to be treated with at least a crumb of decency.
If I'm going to read a fanfic and find the main character is an alicorn OC, I'm probably going to hit that 'back' button unless a good reason to do otherwise shows itself in short order, though.

You know, you can have GS/MS who are alicorns.... or pegasi.
As long as your Alicorn character is a) totally yours and b) Not a god, I'm totally cool with it ^__^ I think people seem to assume that Alicorn OC = You think you're better than them.
But, I mean, as long as you have an alicorn because you want one because you admire it and such, go right ahead!
If you have an alicorn because you think you're the best and totally deserve it.... take a lesson from Blueblood- arrogance gets you nowhere :/

The only issue I've ever had with Alicorn OCs is that the only ones shown so far are basically gods. Joe the Alicorn Baker just doesn't make much sense to me when you put them up against the individuals who control the sun/day, moon/night, and love, which is more or less the strongest force in the whole world.
It'd be like having an Avatar who could only bend one element.

I don't mind alicorn OC's if people want to create them, especially if they ARE supposed to be on par with Celestia and Luna. I mind it more for a Tabletop RPG standpoint, the character would simply be overpowered. In stand alone creative works though, I love to see people push what they can get away with in terms of aesthetics! Nice science evidence, by the way. Taking the "many world's" theory into consideration . . . who's to say Equestria isn't one of them?

Having sensibility and balance are what should matter in an OC, not what race they are. For example, I could make an alicorn named Bob with realistic strengths and realistic flaws, or I could make an alicorn named Ulrich Firelord Breaker of Mountains, who has come from another dimension to slay Princess Celestia and marry Princess Luna. OR I could make a unicorn/earthpony/pegasi named Steve with realistic traits, OR I could make a unicorn/earthpony/pegasi named Starslayer the Wicked who has come from a distant land to slay Celestia and marry Princess Luna.
At any rate, either one is fine, because it is YOUR OC, YOU can do what YOU want to do with it, and not worry about what other people think of it. Because it is about having fun, and creating something you like.

Granted you make a forceful point, and you have a right to do so, (I see enough people that have problems with my unicorn and his fabulous hat) You will probably never see me making an Alicorn character. If you have everything, then you hardly gain anything through character development. That's my opinion about it.

I can't agree with this more. I think that most bronies are too sensitive about OCs. A bunch of bronies on a forum got all flankhurt when I gave my OC dragonfly wings.

It gets a bit worse than that. Apparently the Dinky head tilt gif I made can synch up to "Pinkie's Lie" And people have said that the combination of The Doctor's and Derpy's cutie marks should be Dinky's cutie mark. When asked what the bubbles mean I remembered "Bubble theory" the theory that our universe is like a bubble in an ocean of bubbles. Now imagine pinkie's 4th wall breaking abilities with a time lor'd unicorn daughter.

I used to have two Alicorn OCs, twin brothers Zoreck & Roreck. I reduced them to Pegasi. What happened? People constantly calling them a MS/GS, even though I had a story to back up everything about them & made them as balanced as I could.

No, just anyone who uses "stu" as an intentional insult as they did proves themselves to be a troll.

Honestly I think that people should be allowed to do whatever they want with their OCs. And if a person doesn't like it to just ignore it.
I personally don't like Twilight, I feel that the main character is a Mary Sue. She has adishwater personality and has two guys fighteing over her.. two supernatural guys.
But hey, it's popular enough it got turned into a movie series, so there are some people out there that like it. Not my cup of tea but others find it enjoyable and its not negatively effecting me so I just ignore it. Let the people who like twilight have their fun so long as they're not hurting anything.

Alicorns just give people too much room to go Mary Sue, and they end up as perfect characters. And that's why I would never make an alicorn OC. Too much temptation to go "OMG ALL POWERFUL!1!!!!111one!!". And so many others have fallen for it. Alicorns, simply put, just end up too perfect, too much of the time.
A lot of bronies hate OCs, regardless of species. Just gotta shrug it off.
That's my reasoning and stuff. I just don't like many Alicorns cause no one seems to get them right.

Pretty much. I've encoded limitors in Thunder Crash's design already. I think it makes him more interesting with the limitations than making him all powerful.
For me he's simply another pony. others are better than him in a lot of different area including magic. His limited magic is related to his special talent same as a unicorn. And his talent includes him flying is all.
And While I use him as a mouth piece because I'm admittedly more than justifiably amused with the Thunder Crash Course pun... Thats actually why I do it. He's actually not bright enough to understand what I'm having him say. He can teach flying and the musical insturments the Bronies play. Otherwise... naaw . . .

If Celestia were the selfish type she would not be as friendly toward the other ponies as she has been shown in the show. She wouldnt have taken on Twi as her apprentice, and would not hav e had as good a humor about some of the things that transpired such as the invisible ink or the abduction of her pet.

Actually its vitally important to the lesson to show theat different things happen in different universes. As the events of the Legend of zelda series do not take place in Equestria and the events of My Little Pony do not take place in hyrule. Likewise the events with OC Alicorns take place in a reality that is not the manestream friendship is magic universe.

And yet in the second part this is part of this people are yelling at me about things happening outside of the mane universe because they don't happen in the mane universe. So the multiverse thing is to set up the basis for an explination, of how OC Alicorns can exist but not have to be gods.
Multiversal Theory is vital to that possibility.

I have no idea why they don't want toaccept this. if gives an underlying basis for a reason to tolerate other people's ideas even if you don't like them. I do. There are alot of things I don't like, I just ignore them. Let others do what they want. but I've had a friend who is repeatedly harrassed on this matter.

Hasbro can't even get it right on that one. Saw a video where they said Celestia was the only one. Which is BS, because where does that leave poor Luna?
So Trollestia certainly exsists within alternate realities. Saw a funny one where she left a copy of "cupcakes" for pinkie to find. Poor pinkie. Her clinging to Rainbow dash in the end was cute though.
