A friend asked me how to make an Anbu vest for cosplay, so I made a tutorial for everyone. This is my first tutorial so all suggestions are greatly appreciated. It's kinda big, sorry 'bout that. Oh and I didn't have any in-progress pics of the vest I made, so I drew 'diagrams' instead. If you have any questions, feel free to note me or email me at c.ramjam@gmail.com. ^_^Note: This is by no means the best way to make this, it's just how I made mine.

A few questions;
What kind of fabric is used for the vest? is that..broadcloth? Sorry, don't really have knowledge about these things
Also, just to clarify, the batting is used on the inside?
And lastly, how do you attach the buckles onto the vest?

I used broadcloth 'cause it was all i had access to at the time, but i think something with a bit more stretch in it would be better b/c getting in and out of the vest can be a challenge sometimes lol
The batting is sandwiched between two layers of fabric.
Attach the buckles by hand sewing them on.

Maybe like a jersey material, as long as it has some stretch to it. No, each piece, front and back, are 2 layers of fabric with the batting between those two layers. So it would be
fabric-batting-fabric-you-fabric-batting-fabric, if that makse sense ^_^'

One question, though. On step 1, do you add 3 in. to all the measurements?
